John Travolta's 16-Year-Old Son Has Died
I am a zillion light years late with this, but I was traveling back from California to NYC for most of today. I know I just disappeared. I figured I'd write a note to you bitches in the terminal, but Long Beach Airport's janky ass internet was not cooperating, so I had to nix it. But here's the story. Skip it if you've heard it a million times already.
John Travolta and Kelly Preston's 16-year-old son, Jett, died in the Bahamas while he was on vacation with his family. Jett was last seen going into the bathroom in one his family's suites at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel last night. His body wasn't discovered until 10 this morning by his caretaker, Jeff Michael Kathrein. Jeff is the blondie in the picture below and he was also caught kissing on John Travolta back in 2006.
TMZ says that the police report states Jett suffered a seizure and hit his head on the bathtub. John's attorney said his son died at the scene after attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. His attorney also said that Jett had a history of seizures.
There were rumors that Jett was Autistic, but John has always denied this and even threatened to sue over it. John said Jett had Kawasaki Syndrome, a disorder that can lead to heart disease. Kelly Preston later blamed household cleaners for all of Jett's health problems. She said one of L. Ron Hubbard's detoxification programs helped Jett.
An autopsy is being performed on Jett to find the exact cause of death.
I'll admit that when I first heard about this, the word "Scientology" came at me in big evil letters, but we won't know anything until the autopsy. When I was on the plane, the women behind me were watching this story on Larry King and totally saying all this crazy shit. People were totally giving them the side-eye. They should've wrote this post. All I know is that this sad all around and I will leave it at that.

My daughter had Kawasaki's Disease as a 2 year old and it's somewhat bizarre in that they don't know what causes it, but they know how to treat it & it can be difficult to diagnose. But once the child receives treatment, he/she HAS NO LONG-LASTING EFFECTS of Kawasaki's. In other words, it can't lead to autism, seizures, etc. If left untreated, it can cause aortic embolisms, which can cause heart attacks in young children. I assume Jett got the treatment for Kawasaki's, so that should be a non-factor in his death.
Autism, however, can be linked with seizures & if he had one when no one was around, it could've been dangerous. Why no one was around is a whole 'nother story, though. :)
My daughter was treated for it and is fine-she has to have an EKG done every 5 years, but that's just precautionary...

It's just so sad, for so many reasons.
Hopefully there is still a chance at getting through to some people, although for the Travolta family, it appears to be too late.
If you watch clips of this kid, to me, it's obvious he had autism. I work with students with autism in a mentally impaired classroom in a high school level. Generally, seizure disorders are common in children with autism, as are certain self stimming hand gestures he did in the clips I saw on Larry King.
I'm not sure why they couldn't admit that their son had autism (or at least was on the autism spectrum). Is it some scientology thing where their children have to be perfect in order to be scientologists? It's the same thing with other parents I work with though, some won't admit their child has autism, and get them labeled as OHI (other health impairment) so they don't carry around the autism label.
Sorry for the rant...I just get kind of worked up about stupid parents ignoring something so important.

This is the perfect time for the government to take a stand and step in. There is clear negligence here. Maybe the Travolta's aren't competent because they are hypnotized by a cult, but they are not competent. They refused to treat their son. They have a young daughter. She is not safe. In any other family, the government would put the other child(ren) in foster care.
Oh, just on CNN, Jett went into the bathroom in the evening, and was found dead at 10am the next day in the tub. Are you kidding me? I have a 17 year old son, with no physical, emotional, or mental issues, except the amazing eyeroll whenever I am present, and I would notice if he were in the bathroom longer than a half hour. Whatever he does in there is his biz, but if he didn't emerge from that room after a while, I would be concerned. I wouldn't wait until 10am the next day! If he had some sort of disability, I would have been extra-attentive!

that poor baby. Conspiracy theories aside, I really hope that his parents loved him and did what they thought was in his best interest, however misguided they may have been. It's an even bigger tragedy to think that not only did this poor kid die alone, but that he didn't even have the comfort of a loving family while he lived. Sadness.

I don't know if I even have anything else to say on this thread. I am disgusted beyond words. I've had my suspicions about the Travoltas for years, and I'm sorry that it all seems to be coming to fruition.

I don't doubt they loved their son and I think having a child with Autism is no doubt a hard thing to deal with no matter the amount of money and help you may have. I just think its disgusting that any human being could be apart of a "religion" that believed someone born Autistic is a "degrading being"...Jett is sitting pretty in heaven while L Ron Hubbard gives him foot rubs daily before being sent back to Hell.

In MK's story he says that Jett was found by HIS caretaker, not the property caretaker. The caretaker who is Johnny boy's lover, so they were probably too busy doing the hanky panky to check on Jett to see if he was ok.

Can you imagine if an "inner-city" woman had neglected a toddler's easily corrected affliction, and allowed her son to become developmentally disabled for no reason but that she was hearing voices? Her children would be immediately removed from her care. I hope Suri remains healthy, and doesn't come down with a simple bacterial infection that, if untreated, could deter her development, but is easily treated by antibiotics. It is not like John Travolta doesn't have the money to help his child. He didn't have the will to help his child. Disgusting.

I feel sad. Everything I see that they cared about him lots...that they're a close loving family.
I, too, agree that something is not right with this. But I really do think that they BELIEVE. That's hard. I meet people all the time that believe what I consider to be unbelievable. They don't mean any harm - in fact, they mean good.
I feel badly for everyone involved. If it is, indeed, connected to the S word - well, I hope they can save their daughter and themselves before it's too late. They will have to live with the pain of Jett's death now for life - it may already be too late. That kinda thing can really fuck with a person.
