Coke Isn't Evil, Says Lily Allen
We need to work on making Lily Allen a U.S. Citizen so that she can become our new Surgeon General instead of that TV doctor, because she knows what's really good and bad for us. Take cocaine for instance? It's not that bad! That's what Dr. Lily claims. She opened up her rant trap again and defended the evil doer known as cocaine.
Lily said, “The only story is that drugs are bad and they will kill you - you will become a prostitute, a rapist or a dealer. But that's not true. I know lots of people who take cocaine three nights a week and get up and go to work. But we never hear that side of the story. I wish people wouldn’t sensationalize it. Some people are just bad at taking drugs.”
Lily should really teach a class in our grade schools about how to take drugs "the good way."
I'll admit that my nose has danced with the white fairies once or twice or a hundred times. Hey, it was the 80s! I was in kindergarten. It was the thing to do in the sandbox. Seriously, I dabbled with that shit and I'm not a dealer, a rapist or a postit.... Wait. Define "prostitute."
And don't mind Lily! It's just the coke that's making her babble. Throw a few lines her way, and she'll shut it.

With some people it finds the worst, hidden aspect of your personality and brings it to the forefront. Instant asshole. I saw this drug totally change a friend. This person had been featured on tv and then their life just tanked out.
Addiction is as unique to each person as their finger print. What can get someone hooked may not phase someone else. How taking drugs affects someone's life can have a completely different effect on someone else's. Some alcoholics/drug addicts can quit successfully and completely on their own and never look back, while some strugle the rest of their lifes. Why? If we knew, addiction would be a lot easier to treat. Lilly Allen is a complete asshole and doesn't know what she is talking about. She has made it abundently clear she can't handle her substances, so she is no one to talk. The best thing to do is stear completely clear of drugs. Period.

I love fucking Lily Allen.
Oh yeah coke isn't bad. Just forget the state of virtual warfare exists in Mexico (and Colombia in the 80) which terrorizes the population and which is spilling into the United States. Certainly drug lords don't rule the streets and everyday innocent bystanders are shot and killed (5,376 to be exact) or family members are kidnapped for outrageous ransoms. There aren't any towns on both sides of the Rio Grande that are left unprotected by officials because they fear for their lives if they venture into them. And of course there isn't an increasing problem in border towns with more and more youths becoming addicted to the stupid drug. No, every piece I've read in the Economist, NYT, BBC, Foreign Affairs, NPR, El Pais, or various other journals is just lie-telling. Lily Allen is all knowing and maybe I should start listening to her, and only her.
I know only one cocaine taker, been taking it for 20 years now. He is a mess, he suffers from anxiety, has bursts of rage and once had a sort of ischemic attack. VERY scary.
He's just lucky he's rich and doesn't have to get up at 7 every morning... but I don't envy him at all.

Drug use/abuse killing people is not a story, it's a fact. I heard from a doctor who started doing crystal meth and after a few months he got a brain stroke. He had to work really hard to get his body back to normal, but after the stroke he couldn't even walk or talk normally. But the sad thing is, he was a very serious and responsible doctor/parent.

Most coke addicts I know do coke to take the edge off of too much alcohol, and never the other way around, unless they're like, alcoholics who dabble occasionally in coke.
Also, the chain-smoking is more because of a need to do something with your hands and not really related to the cigs.
ricki, I know what you're saying about doing a bump to make you feel less drunk. But in my experience, it creates a vicious circle. And you are just as drunk as you were before, you just don't feel it as much.
I agree that the smoking is partly due to the "doing something with your hands" thing. But whether it's that or a brain trigger to smoke, you're still smoking too much! Congrats on quitting, BTW!
