Sigh, poor Brit. I've said it before that I'm not and never was a fan but as a fellow human my heart now breaks for her. I just hopped in a cab in this godforsaken weather and went to work. First the cabby tried to be a know-it-all and tell me what to do. It was ok, tho - he learned quickly. THEN I get stuck cuz the traffic lights are out. It was ok, tho cuz they had a cop on them already. THEN the next cop waves my NOW OBVIOUSLY ILLEGAL cabby across the street - I tried to esplain; That's a courtesy, hunny, not a command. IF *I* want to stop on this side of the street you should let me! THEN the fucking building's closed. Why? There's a power outage of course and no one told ME! It's fucking whatever it is below zero and I'm not really dressed cuz I decided I'm going door to door today...so I run across the street to wait in Starbucks. Closed. Nova Bakery - closed. The fucking laundromat - closed. ARGH! I got nachos at 7-11 on the way home so I'm hoping to be better soon.
