Why is this bitch bringing a camera crew into see her children (who are still clinging to life)? This is a sterile environment and you bring strangers and equipment into the room? What f*cking hospital allowed this circus bullshit?

I guess the official "selling out the kids" has officially begun!! This lunatic couldn't even wait til her babies were home and thriving to allow an interview and for people to see them. I guess she's so hard up for the money that any common sense has gone out the window. Although the common sense wasn't there to begin with - you'd think the medical staff would intervene and tell this loser to get a grip already!! I HATE the way these infants are being whored out. It's the same disdain I have for Jolie for doing it to each one of her children. PEOPLE SUCK!

Her mom said that she has always been obsessed with kids. in her first interview (the first I read at least) she said that there was always something off about her daughter and she should have just become a kindergarten teacher if she wanted so many kids.

However is very hard to stop a grown woman/man from doing anything unless you pursue legal action. also remember her mom is in her seventies, she has not the energy or time, taking care of 6 grandchildren or 14 now, to get a lawyer and commit her if that's what needed to be done.

I finished my bachelor's last year and had only one child to juggle with daycare, study time, exams, papers, hubby etc. and my mom was helping me.
It was NOT easy in the least, I really don't think Nadya will be able to start her masters in the fall with all the children, she would need serious help from an army of people to make it happen.
I wish her the best but her goals are very unrealistic.

LOS ANGELES – The California mother of octuplets already receives food stamps and disability payments to help feed and care for her six other children. Publicist Mike Furtney said Monday that Nadya Suleman receives $490 a month in food stamps.

She also receives disability payments for three of her six previous children, but Suleman did not want to disclose the nature of her children's disabilities or the nature of those payments.

In an interview that aired Monday, Suleman told NBC "Today" show anchor Ann Curry that she does not receive welfare.

Suleman's octuplets were born Jan. 26 in a Los Angeles area hospital.

Furtney says that in Suleman's view, the payments are for her family's legitimate needs.

I'm not a bit surprised at the nails...seems like every single mom where I work--and they are legion--has those stupid acrylic French manicure nails.

I'm not a big math person but she now has, at least, 11 children who will need daycare while Nadya pursues her master. My 5 year old is in daycare and that costs me about $1035 per month. That's the lowest rate possible because she is in preschool and the teacher ratio goes down as they age. For an infant, the rate is quite a bit higher, because, at least in Washington, the ratio of caregiver to child is 1 to 2. I'll go on the low side and say that each child will cost $1500 per month. Which brings the totals for the 8 to $12,000 per month. Adding in the 2 year old twins is probably another $2000. Then she has the autistic 3 year old. That can't be free. Most likely, her child care costs will be $15000 per month. Do you have that kind of money? I know I don't. So, who is going to pay to watch the kids?
So, is her supportive church going to raise these kids for free? Does Nadya not realize that her life with 8 infants is going to be non stop diaper changing and feeding? I have friends with twins and they are overwhelmed. How is it that she is going to breeze through?
As for the Duggar family, at least they are rich. They have built their own home on their own land. All the kids are home schooled. Their kids are also spaced out enough that the older kids take care of the younger kids. I wouldn't want that many kids and I think it's creepy and weird to keep breeding like that but at least they have a lot of support and have a system in place.
It will be interesting to see how this story plays out.

Wow I didn't know she had suffered from mental illness, that's a whole different game. you're right about the Yates story, she had many many breakdowns before she had those five kids, she always suffered from mental illness and how it ended up was horrific.

I pray that these little ones do not end up like that, I also agree with helping those children, NOT the mom but the children. at least for their basic needs, diapers formula etc.

God knows how they're all going to fit in that small flat. I don't blame the grandmother for being done with her. one kid is a lot of work, I would go insane with 14.

Point well taken, but is it "illegal" to live in a three bedroom home and have so many kids? I think its a callous thing to do, but its not the governments place to tell anyone how many babies they can have. Like you said, however, if the kids are being neglected the gov't CAN step in. So why haven't these kids been taken away already?

I was working in a property management office for a while. We had families on a county program where thier rent was based on family size, income, etc. Lets say a family of 6 was in a 2 bedroom, we would have to move them into a bigger apartment. In Ca, I think the law is 2 people per bedroom with one in the common area. (Living room) My friend works for the Housing Authority in California and said this crazy lady and her 14 kids would qualify for an 8 bedroom house.

Unfortunately our government doesn't limit the number of children you can have, which is why we have assholes like the Duggars and Gosselins spitting out resource-sucking litters of children. I don't think social services is going to like the fact that five kids are crammed into a single bedroom and cribs are in the kitchen and laundry room and shit. Hell, where I live they won't even clear three adults to live in a one bedroom apartment!

Um, I'm no genius, but it seems to me if you intend on bringing eight children home to a three bedroom home with no income to feed or properly clothe them, they can absolutely be taken away. All children deserve shelter and food, and fortunately in this country, if they're not getting that, we have social services to investigate and place them in proper care. And sorry, but in this day and age of birth control no one has the right to have a big family if they can't afford one. It's fucking selfish and you should be punished for doing it.
