It's True

Yesterday, I posted a video of Salma Hayek using her chichis of wonder to save a starving baby in Sierra Leone. I joked that the baby is now a mega genius who can solve the world's most impossible problems. Well, that was no joke. Salma's miracle chichis really do turn babies into little prodigies.

During an interview with that troll Rachael Ray and Rachael's buff gymnast titties, Salma said her 16-month-old daughter Valentina can already speak three languages. She speaks English, French and Spanish. Damn and fuck! I can't even get English right and that baby has got me beat. Eff night classes at Sylvan Learning Center. I need to get schooled by Valentina. Or maybe I just need to nuzzle on Salma's chichis and they will give me all the answers.

Salma also went on to say that her daughter sees ghosts! "Last night she woke up and her eyes were open. And she's looking at one specific point and she's going, 'No no no no, au revoir,' which means goodbye in French ... And she's looking at someone, but there's no one there. was so scared, and I'm like, 'Yes, au revoir, whoever you are, get out!' And then she started saying it in English: 'Bye bye, bye bye!' I guess she was trying in different languages to see what nationality this ghost was to go away. It was terrifying!"

Homegirl was showing off her premium language skills. And it was just Einstein's spirit visiting her genius ass. Valentina tutors him at night.

Some kids' languages skills get messed up from having too many languages around them when the kids are young.

That's true but they usually sort it out by two.

They're just a little slower to speak but their ability to understand is the same.

cprincess-

She used to annoy you? Actually, even before she had the baby, I knew she fought for women's rights and was a real spitfire who didn't take shit and didn't seem to want to just be a sex-kitten w/o brains. At first, except for in 'From Dusk to Dawn;, I didn't think she was so hot, but after I found that out, I just loved her.

Then, she said something about moms and daughters being rivals. On top of that, she breastfed the baby on camera. To all the moms who are thinking I'm offended by breastfeeding, I'm not. It's just, well I'm so skeptical after Angelina. It felt like the breastfeeding on camera was convenient. So, maybe I'm a cynic now, but I'm just not sure what to think. She is beautiful and I do love how she showcases being voluptuous instead of a stick-thin model-type.

If the baby is around all those languages (And I assume she is, her mom speaks Spanish and English, her dad French atleast)she will pick it up.
My 1 year old knows an equal amount of English and Arabic words because she hears them everyday :)

Is that her babygirl, she is gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous little girl..wow just looks like her her sexy mamma.

Didn't Salma used to say she was psychic or something? I love her but she's obviously a bit of a nutter.

It is not uncommon for children to pick up languages that early, but usually they start speakign later.

My goddaughter speaks two lanaguges (German/English), but she started late, but now she has taken off and sometimes we want her to just shut up!

YES! I tell you, from working with people who would tell too many stories about their special kids (a genius!) I am sensitive to not doing overkill now I am a parent. I know no one is gonna be as interested as I am, and that's normal! Everything in moderation. I only gush about my budding prodigy to my husband, you know? :)

putas's picture

Miss Thang- it's quite possible she is! I think that's nice, nothing to be afraid of.

My bebe is too young to speak coherently yet- babbles- but he sometimes stops screaming then looks at a spot and then smiles broadly, laughs and POINTS. He often does this when I am changing him and he is looking right next to me. I used to get freaked but I think hey, if whatever the hell it is makes him happy, it's all good. Thanks for the help!

And my nephew scared the crap out of me. I used to sit for them (as no one else would after a few times,, I know why now) they lived in a home that used to be part of the underground railroad (east coast) it was huge but spooky at night. Anyway my nephew calmly walked up to me when i was sitting for him (he was supposed to be in bed) and told me there was a man on his ceiling watching him.
I said 'Why?' He said 'He does that every night'.
Uhhh. Another time he came up to me after I put him down (he was @ 6) and he asked why I was in his room. I had been watching movies and had not been in to check on him yet. He insisted I was standing in his doorway. Lots of freaky stuff like that. He even asked me who the lady sitting next to me was one night on the couch. I think it's kind of funny.

I used to think that Salma Hayak was really annoying but I think shes OK now since she had a baby with the mega rich dude and theres no question she seems really happy to be a mother-I mean shes still breast feeding and the kids got major teeth!!

I highly doubt that baby's going to be particularly clever, but I don't doubt that its IQ has already surpassed Salma's.

Well, it is true that kids can see ghosts more easily than adults because their "third eye" isn't corrupted yet.

I believe it.

But then again, I've lived in haunted houses and have experienced shit I cannot explain, so. I guess I am bias.

Yeah, the kid is gonna be a genius, just like her mother.

case of mommy overjoy. well, it's harmless

Agree and maybe. Over-investing in the notion that your kid is exceptional can lead to things like excessive pressure to fulfill the parents' expectations and anger and disappointment when the child "genius" doesn't excel in school.

In Valentina's case, she'll grow up in wealth and privilege. Her intellectual abilities or academic skills might not be all that important.

Cute.. And I am struggling with Italian. It should come easy for me but it really isn't.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? I learned that song when I was growing up (cuz Dad had the album), even though I still haven't a CLUE what it means. But I can still sing it word for word to this day...

spanish, italian, and french are all similar in sentence structure and some words so it makes sense that they can learn all 3 at one time
---------

yes: they are all derived from Latin (so is Portuguese) - they also share the same 'root' of the word, making it easier to learn for those who already know one of those languages.

Valentina is not the only baby with the 6th sense. i think i heard from somewhere that all babies can see spirits and the unknowns one way or another.

Good for her, Valentina and those wonderful tatas!

PS: I am learning Portuguese :)

KDraco!! Portuguese is my second language, I've learned 10 years ago, is a beautifull language, but I found the grammar extremelly dificult,
I love to say Cala boca Viado! :P
I tried to study French, but pronuntiacion was so hard, I just couldn't do it.

He Dicho! caso cerrado!!

Some kids' languages skills get messed up from having too many languages around them when the kids are young. It's great to be multilingual but I think it's best to pick one language to start. I think, regardless of the local language, the parents' predominant language is best at the start, since that's what the kid hears and uses the most.

I love Salma but don't like parents who brag about how smart their little one is. We'll see later on. Some kids are quiet so you don't see their smarts, some have high IQs but poor social skills, some start later, etc.

joe shmoe's picture

Kids who learn more then one language as toddlers are sometimes a little later to speak, because their brains are assimilating more then one language. (not saying they're slow - just may start speaking a few months later then unilingual kids)

The beauty is though that their brains become accustomed to working in more then one language which must be an asset if you want to learn another language later. Also - I've read that musicians often have a facility for language. I know several musicians who do for sure - not sure if it applies across the board.
