Is This Another Picture Of Vadge's Vintage Sascrotch?
No, it's not. It's the poster for the movie version of the only book that I read twice as a kid without skimming! It was my bestest friend for like two weeks. I really wanted a big, hairy friend of my own. And I got one years later, if I ain't being too subtle!
Damn, I hope they don't fuck this shit up!

ok what are they gonna fill an hour and a half with?
meh. it may be good. at least it will give parents a chance to buy a classic book for their kids and not some Dora Learns to Dance B.S.

Ok...so there really are no original ideas anymore, huh? "Where the Wild Things Are" is a fuckin kids' bedtime book for Christ's sake! It's only like 10 pages long...there's no real action...no real plot...what the hell is there to make a movie about?

"Dude, quit harshing my mellow!"
They have been trying to make this film for 12 years... its been around for a while... the development anyhow

The war isn't working.
This gave me sadness. I Really don't find this necessary or amusing, but keep in mind it can' destroy the classic, just piss ppl off.
Did you have a brain tumor for breakfast?
I'm really surprised Sendak is allowing this badness. He is notoriously protective regarding his characters and stories, not allowing them to be used for ANYTHING. And now this? Very disappointing.
I agree, Bunnyann. I loved this book when I was a little kid.. but I don't think such a short book would translate well into a movie.
I bet it sucks. :(
Awww! They better not fuck it up.
I just looked up "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" and imdb says they're making that into a movie, too. (Although they do say Bruce Campbell<3 is in it..)
These Hollywood bitches really know how to ruin good children books.
MK you liked the book as a kid because it allowed you to put mommie's tiara. Just sayin'
my son auditioned to be max a few years ago in nyc. it was a lot of fun. turns out the kid who plays max is named max in real life....

The McCanns Did It
I hate when Hollywood decides to make movies based on 12-page children's books! Especially this one, which as I recall hardly has any words! God, we've already had the Polar Express and about five Doctor Seuss books that have just been godawful movies. WHY, Hollywood, WHY?!
Spoiled, I loved Really Rosie. Classic.
Didn't care for Maurice Sendak. My favorite kids' book was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and that's been fucked to beyond and back.

"Oh my Clarisse, is this... Laurence Olivier you have there...?
I went through an Olivier phase when I was a teenager, rented every movie I could find with him in it. In my opinion, he's the only one of those olden "hunky" dudes whose looks are still relevant today, damn he was such a hottie...
I wonder if you can get Wuthering Heights on DVD..."

Unfortunately, Wuthering Heights isn't currently available on DVD. At least not on Netflix.
Although you might be able to score a used copy from Amazon, Ebay, Half.com, or IOffer.com.
And YES, Laurence Olivier was not only hot, but an insanely gifted actor.
Anybody see "The Divorce of Lady X"? A cute romantic comedy with Merle Oberon.
This was my favorite book as a child and I will cry real tears if they fuck it up.

Bella,
Yes ma'am it is Sir Laurence! I recieved in the mail "A Christmas Carol" read by Larry last night and it was FABULOUS! Olivier's voice could melt butter!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh

I was so mesmerized by his gorgeous face that I forgot all about his voice... That's it, I'm gonna treat myself with a Wuthering Heights DVD!
Have they made any of the Amelia Bedilia books into movies? maybe they should because I think maybe they would be funny.
Where the Wild things are?
-Is that Charlie Sheen's autobiography?

My friend met Maurice Sendak when she was a kid. Said he was an angry man who really didn't care for children. Of course, having to live in the closet for 60 years couldn't have been easy. Anyone remember "Really Rosie" with Carole King?

Next they are doing the Hungry Hungry Caterpillar, right?
****
They'd have to Hollywood-ize that shit and make him barf back up his binge eating to make it interesting.
****
Just for true authenticity they should then have the caterpillar say that they eat all the time and never put on weight as they:
a) have a very fast metabolism
b)have good genes
c)breast feed
d) run around after the recently adopted kids.

It has some great 3D moments.
I hated this book when I was little, ESPECIALLY because it was so popular and everyone was telling me to like it. I guess I was kind of a snob even back then lol...but yeah, uh, it was boring. And dumb. I'd rather see a move of The Little Prince. Over it.
Next they are doing the Hungry Hungry Caterpillar, right?
I have read this book so many times I know it off by heart. Still, it is only about ten sentences long. When my kids were little I used to sing ‘Wild Thing’ during the bits that had no text as well, so it was a fully realised performance. This book gave me a profound dislike of the name Max and sure enough I have never met a Max that I didn’t want to punch in the head.

Well I like Colin. I'd let him jizz on my tattas anyday. - UKer.
When are they going to make James and the Giant Peach into a movie? Oh wait..nevermind. I actually liked the book "the BFG" better, though.
Ahhh, the old folks "Coraline". Love the book, don't hold much hope for the movie.

I don't remember this book but I looked the movie up on IMDB and the buzz seems to be positve. Plus it´s directed by Spike Jonze and since I loved Adaptation and Being John Malkovich I will be looking forward to seeing this one as well.
Such a great book. I am expecting the movie to be bad but hope I am wrong.
"Damn, I hope they don't fuck this shit up!"
But you just know that they will, don't you? "Cat In The Hat", anyone? :(
why? why? why?
not every book has to be made into a movie, yaknow!!!
OMG, I used to be so afraid of this friggin book when I was a kid. It still kind of freaks me out.
