Farrah Fawcett Is In The Hospital
Shitty news for a Sunday morning. Farrah Fawcett has been in a Los Angeles hospital since last Thursday and is in critical but stable condition. That's what sources tell Radar anyway, so who really knows. Friends say Ryan O'Neal is with her and she's currently unconscious.
Farrah was diagnosed with cancer in 2006. She later said her cancer went into remission. Farrah just got back from Germany where she was undergoing stem-cell treatment.
Last week, I was watching one of those entertainment shows like The Insider and Farrah was on bitching about the paparazzi. She looked good, so hopefully this is just a tiny little setback.
Healing thoughts to Farrah!

Really? WOW.....I just heard that this girl is a lesbian and she is hooking up with a nice girl on the interesting club called: ____Seekbi.com____, really? Sounds it is a famous on-line service.
...yes, i went there.
farah is still beautiful! her family needs to pull it together.. GAWD.
Farrah is not long for this world. Her physical downfall is sad and ironic. It's the anti-thesis of what we'd expect of the 1970s blonde bombshell who's looks exuded sexiness and perfect health well into late middle age. That she's dying of something so unsexy and unpretty as anal cancer is
a cruel dose of reality.
hands up all those who are fucking perfect!! 99% of people do the best they can with the shit they start with so with that in mind i really hope farrah is not in any pain
I don't think anyone has the right to comment about this woman. I can read DListed when it is about the mishaps of many misguided (and not to mention currently famous) celebs. It is funny and slightly abhorrent to think that we relish in our misconceptions about reality and the fame it produces. We believe that fame is a an achievement....a type of affirmation. Really though, it remains a dice roll. A luck of the draw. And even when the celeb is in the stages of death we observe them. What the f?
I wish her the best and hope she recovers soon.

You know what? Yeah, Redmond is a "piece of shit", but so is his FUCKED UP father who raised him (and let's NOT forget got arrested along WITH HIM for being a total tweaker).
And look, I want Farrah to pull through this just as much as anyone, BUT can we forger her Letterman fiasco???? Redmond has addiction and FUCKED UP lifestyles on BOTH sides of his family including Farrah. I'm sorry she's sick and I'm sorry her fucked up son has fucked up once again. He has himself to blame first and foremost, but his fucked up parents certainly paved the way...
Name one of Ryan's children who ain't fucked up...

That is the face of meth right there. Arsehole.
What a selfish little prick Redmond is. His mother is in the hospital and he is getting himself arrested on more drug charges. What a piece of trash that kid is. Poor Farrah!

I remember hearing from my mom that when Charlie's Angels came out every woman wanted to look just like Farrah Fawcett. I can see why. She was just so beautiful and what an actress!

It's kinda sad that so many here seem to know her personal medical history. That's BS. And, of course, the double-wide, teddy bear, we-wuv-you-"Farrah" brigade is out in force. God, the Internet has bred such ill-mannered familiarity.

Did you even read any of the comments? She is a nice lady and deserves respect...grow up...

You're welcome... I'm pretty sure you could do it, you already have the title! Seriously though, I wish you nothing but the best. xox
Well, if cancer doesn't kill her....this will:

Thanks, IG! I wish I actually had the talent to write it...

That would be a bestseller! I like your attitude, and sending good wishes to you both.
There is nothing wrong with humor when dealing with cancer. It is well known that laughing is good for your immune system. My husband is going through his third recurrence of cancer in three years and he makes me laugh every day. I told him I'm going to write a book called "You may have cancer, but you still piss me off!" Life is too short not to have fun.
Supposedly she was in the works to have a reality show of her struggle with cancer treatments.
She was fantastic in "The Burning Bed". She should have won the Emmy.
She's been nominated three times but has yet to win.

Her son got arrested today again. Man those O'Neal kids are screwed up messes.
---------------------------------
Seriously! Like she doesn't have enough on her plate without having to worry about that asshat.
I hope she gets better and that they're doing what they can for her. Going into the hospital and being unconscious as a cancer patient is not usually the best news, so we're going to pray for her.
I too, am a usual wearer of Farrah Fawcet inspired styled hair. Wouldn't be the same without her.
Farrah rocked in The Burning Bed and she played Diane Downs, she was convicted of killing one of her kids and shooting the other 2.
Her son got arrested today again. Man those O'Neal kids are screwed up messes.
Kick 'dat shit Farrah.
Poor Farrah.
Mr. Hekki loved her so much back in the day, he named his cat Farrah. He also suggested naming our oldest daughter Farrah. I'm not sure if he was joking or not.
healing thoughts to farrah.

What a shame. I agree that she never really got recognised for her true TALENT, only her beauty and that also is a shame.
Best wishes to Farrah and those that love her.
Saw Farrah on TV other day (as MK said) and she looked wonderful. Hope all goes well for her, she's really suffered quite a bit.
One of my first serious crushes when I was a kid. Hope she gets better stat.

I am sorry! Prayers to your mother!
Glad the call was nothing.
DG- The call was just a coincidence. In the grand scheme of things, she's 3 years into secondary liver cancer where the survival rate is no more than 5 years.

My father passed away from prostate cancer and even he would chuckle at that joke. Thanks for making me giggle :)

Great news! Thank you for the update, Hysteria. I appreciate you taking the time to post that. :)
i just read on E! online that doctors discovered a new cancer growth in the same area where she had just finished being treated. according to E!, farrah completed a round of chemo and radiation in february and had been declared cancer-free.
they said the good news is, the recently-discovered growth didn't constitute a "spread" of the cancer. but it is a recurrence
be well and live strong, to farrah & her family
.
People survive cancer every day. Let's not give up hope okay? As another poster mentioned, Farrahs' amazing acting abilities were not recognized by the 'elites' in Hollywood.

Exactly. There's also just, like, an acknowledgment that's healthy - I mean, everyone could just stand around an uncomfortably NOT mention it but that hardly ever feels like the better/happier/healthier thing to do, you know?

So things are okay with your mom? I know last week or so, you were worried about a phone call in the middle of the night and then you weren't able to get in touch with your mom. I hope eveything is ok now. : )
IMO, as long as the kidding around doesn't hurt anyone's feelings, it's healthy for everyone. Think about how good you feel after a really good belly laugh.
I agree, DG. *yawn*

We joke all the time about my mom's condition. Like when she went from pill-form chemo with no side effects to the really bad shit she's on now, we decided she switched from Diet Chemo to Chemo regular. Same chemo taste, less hair.

Such a sad way to go.
And about the jokes- everything has to be a little bit funny- especially tragedy- or we'd all be done in by the weight of life.

Hear, hear.
I have TWO ancestors who killed themselves upon discovering that they had cancer - this is more back in the day when there was less we could do about it, but still - that's how harsh it is. I don't have any jokes here but I must admit to being glad to being able to find a giggle here and there when things get really weighty.

DG, whatever works for you as long as you're not hurting yourself or anyone else! We all die, that's a fact, but no one ever said that inevitability is easy to think about or deal with, especially when it's one we love. I'm always comforted by the knowledge that my loved ones are with God, but at the time right before and after their deaths, it wasn't a whole lot of comfort even though it should be. :-)

I know what you mean.
Stories like this are tragic and sometimes a little levity, at least for me, makes me think less about how real things like this are in life. Any one of us could get sick, and frankly, I like to be an Ostrich, and keep my head in the sand about illness and death, especially since I am no longer a youngster myself. May not be the most mature way to deal with life, but it works, for the moment, for me.
Sounds like she's dying....
People shoudl stop wishing that she "pulls through" with cancer because LIVING with cancer is never fun.
Most people who have cancer in that advanced stage would rather die and go to be with God instead of suffer in pain. What kind of life is that anyway?
If you believe that life afer death is great, then it's seems like a better option anyway.
