Gay Fish For Louis Vuitton

I found out that Amber Rose is actually Kanye’s girlfriend. They have been seen together in several public places. Know this tid bit, this picture seem more intimate and loving rather than oppressive. From first glance, there are many obvious issues with race and gender in this image. Kanye’s upright position makes him appear to have more power over the woman and it is only reinforced with his hand tightly gripping her arm. Amber’s content face and limp body position makes her look lesser than Kanye.
In addition, a white woman laying on a black man’s lap brings up racial issues as well. From Kanye’s powerful stance in support of African-American power in the United States, it comes as no surprise to me that there would be a “white” woman in his grasp. Maybe it’s a stretch but there is more going on in this image than merely selling sex and shoes. After doing some research, I found out that Amber Rose is actually half Italian and half Cape Verdean (an island off the west coast of Africa). So she has some roots in Kanye’s heritage as well, making the race issue a little less prominent. I still think that the stark contrast of skin color screams the fact that a Black man has power over a white woman. The gender oppression still rings true as well. When the lesbian accusation was brought up, it changes how I see the picture even more.
Because Amber’s head is shaved, she looks like a man so I could see how someone would think this was the cover of a gay porn magazine. I never read anything about her being a lesbian but it still doesn’t change the fact that she is being heavily sexualized as a naked women laying on a couch with a man. In addition, her objectification becomes even more evident when she is at the same level as the shoes on Kanye’s feet. Is she only as worthy as the shoes on his feet? Her status as a white woman being oppressed to the level of the shoes on a black man’s feet makes me wonder about the message that Kanye is trying to send. I don’t understand what this has to do with selling shoes...not only does sex sell but blatant oppression must sell shoes also.

Both Kanye's jaws were broken in that accident he had in Chicago back in like 2001 or whenever it was, and they were wired shut for months. Dude's cheeks are real funky because of that. I think its more pronounced when he holds his mouth a certain way.
