The Photoshop Awards: Ceiling Eyes For Peta
Once again, Peta has confirmed that they will put any bottom of the barrel ho on one of their ads. This time, it's Ceiling Eyes from The Hills and the Photoshop artists magically moved her eyes to the side, so it doesn't look like she's trying to stare at her forehead to see if her brain has come back yet. Ceiling Eyes is not Ceiling Eyes if she's not looking at the ceiling. Durr.
This ad kind of doesn't work, because everyone knows that when an Audrina Patridge gets her wings, a puppy dies.

Thank you! I am maxed out at the moment on pets. I love them all, but they fight and carry on just like a bunch of kids.
I used to volunteer and was eventually hired by a no kill shelter back in 2005. The local Humane Society in the neightboring town infatically told me that they could not call me if he was in danger of being euthenized. I am certain that Spargel, (the name I have given him) would have had no trouble being adopted, but I was not willing to take the chance if he wasn't or was adopted by a bunch of ignorant, abusing hillbilles which happens a lot in my area.
I tried for 3 weeks to find his orig. owners, going door to door, placing ad in the local paper and on a local web site. I also had signs up on neighboring roads. After 3 weeks there was no longer hope anyone would call about him and he had become very attached to me, and my dog Norway. He is part of the family now and although I am not happy to have ANOTHER pet, I love the little guy and he is here to stay!

The latest dog that made it's way to my home was someone's pet and I now suspect they purposely dropped him off at my place. I asked the local humane society if I brought him over and he was not adopted would they call me and I would take him back and they said "NO!" and they could not guarantee he would not be euthenized! So he is now my little headache!

That is weird they would not let you take him back if he was not adopted. The local animal shelter I volunteer at will let people take their pets back if they get sick or are not suitable for adoption. The sad thing is they do sweeps and take older animals and euthenize them during the spring and summer to make room for all the kittens and younger cats that are dumped at the shelter daily. That is nice of you to give so many animals a nice home. :)
My cats came from a feral cat colony in my backyard when I lived in Alphabet City. The lavender tabby I rescued when she was only a few days old. She had a puncture wound in her throat from where her mother jumped over the chain link fence with the kitten in her mouth and slipped. I carried her in my pocket and fed her with an eye dropper for weeks. I had to wipe her bottom with a warm washcloth, because they can't poop by themselves until they're a few weeks old. I had no idea mother cats do that for kittens.
The other kitten was orphaned, maybe tossed out by a backyard breeder, because she is a Havana Brown and is a dwarf. I named her Naomi Campbell, because she is gorgeous and walks around on her hind legs when she's happy. She has some street moves, too, though she is very sweet-natured.
I'm so glad I rescued my cats instead of getting them from a breeder. They are 8 years old and would never have lived that long on the streets.

There's a Petco at Union Square in NYC that does its own adoption effort on the weekends, and I can't say how many times I saw those PETA fuckers setting up a little ways down the block and playing gruesome and explicit videos, trying to make small children cry so their parents would donate, of course. It bummed out the people who might have actually adopted a pet.

I see your point Charles. I however, chose to keep the pup, as he is healthy, young, adorable and very well trained.
I am fortunate enough that I am able to provide him with medical care and a good home to live. I am now at my MAXIUM pet capacity and all other strays, runaways or dump offs will have to find other lodging!
I am sorry to hear about your pup Charles. My heart goes out to anyone that has to pet a pet down.

Honestly, I wouldn't buy a dog from a "reputable breeder" either. I recently adopted a dog from a local shelter who is lab/shep. mix, however, he looks 100 percent Lab.
I went to a dog park a few weeks ago and saw a couple with a Lab puppy and they told me they had paid $500 for her. Ridiculous! You could find pure bred animals at local shelters if you keep an eye on it, or close to the particular breed you're on the lookout for.
Besides, you're also saving a life if you adopt. Just saying.

PETA are scum. I called them when I was writing a short piece about how they had Steve-O as a spokesperson even though he abused animals for a living on Wildboys. They basically laughed it off and gave me a canned response about how they were thrilled to have him help "raise awareness". They hung up when I asked too many questions. There are so many reasons why they are a disgusting organization who cares nothing about animals. They use that as a front to get tons of cash from ignorant dumbasses.

Also, there are "Chihuahua rescues" and similar such programs for other breeds. I could have gone to one of those and still had my chi. But I was selfish, I guess, and didn't know if I could afford the potential medical problems or have enough time to get it to trust me, overcome its abuse, etc. That's also why I felt guilty...and still kinda do. :(

Yeah Hekki, I mean...not ALL breeders are good. They can still be 'puppy mills' per se without churning out 12,000 dogs a year. So you do have to look a little and ivestigate to find a good ones sometimes, but yes, they are often very passionate about a breed. I felt guilty because I always thought I would adopt from a shelter. That's the only downside I see, really - people breeding dogs because they like they way specific ones look, while existing dogs are euthanized. It's like if kids were dying in orphanages because a legion of breeder mommies were churning out blonde-haired, blue-eyed kids as status symbols for WASPs or something. But, I did buy a chihuhua, so it's not like I'm totally innocent. It's a tough area.

I bought my baby chihuahua, and did feel guilty about it. But I bought him from a reputable breeder, and not a puppy mill or pet store. Most pet store animals come from mills, but while I want to say "Don't adopt them! They encourage the existence of puppy mills!" all animals deserve love, even if they were bred it poor conditions and have genetic problems because of them. I really, really love animals and I hate thinking about this stuff. FUCK PETA AND THEIR SELF-RIGHTEOUS EGOS. I want to see someone put a needle in in Ingrid Newkirk to put that 'bitch' down 'cause no one wants her dyke ass. Hey, even Steven, right? RIGHT?!#@?!@#
