They both seem like good guys, but this win is better for Kris...He needed it more because he seems kind of too laid back & a bit of a follower to do much more than Idol on his own. This way he can have Idol leading him around until he gets more confident....Adam is way more of a go getter & more independent, so it will be great for him to be on his own, but still have Idol runner up on his "resume". Like everyone is saying thankfully, it wasnt Gokey.

Frankly, IMO, winning Idol is like the kiss of death to having a serious and lucrative career. Out of all the seasons this show has been on ,how many of the winners have gone on to have brilliant careers? A handful, maybe. The rest have faded into obscurity. If this Adam guy is so talented, then I am certain he will end up doing far better that the guy that won.

Never mind, Gayken didn't win. Goes to show how much I watch Idol.

i actually kind of liked the way it happened. not that i don't think adam probably should've won- but he certainly didn't need to win. he's gonna do what ever the hell he wants to do now and people will love it. But i think Kris needed the platform more than adam. and I do like Kris, he seems very jack johnson to me (who i also like a lot)
i think a lot of other people thought that way, that adam didn't need to win to be a star, whereas Kris probly did, so they voted for Kris.

But either way, I like them both and I think they will both do well.
Well, Adam at least.

I have thought for a long time that AI is fixed, and you can't tell me it's not. Last year, everyone was convinced that Archie would win, and of course he didn't. Same this year, with everyone thinking it was in the bag for Adam. I swear, AI wants to be contrary, and be certain to crown the unexpected winner, just for the shock value.

Consoling my daughter last night, I told her it would be better for Adam to not win, but of course, she's 14, and she wanted him to win.

Listen, Adam probably did lose because he's gay. All the Christian Danny voters probably turned their votes to Kris. It's really not that hard to figure out if you actually use your brain. Sad that this country is so fucking wack like that. Although Kris is talented, Adam really should have won and Kris knew it. I think Kris looked totally embarrassed and shocked, and the whole entire win was uncomfortable and anti-climatic in my opinion.

He's got everything we want in an entertainr. Who cares if he's not as talented as the gay kid? I liked them both (although I liked Adam more). They seemed like nice enough guys. It was like comparing apples and oranges. I do think they gay/glam think affected his vote. I don't think people outright are like "I don't like gays" but he just makes them uncomfortable and Kris is much more safe and cute (like a stuffed animal). The type of audience that votes on AI is the type that will like Kris and be uncomfortable about Adam. However, in the real world, the people who buy music are not just idol viewers. I mean think of who is big now, most of them would not have won idol, but they are big in the real world. That is what matters more. Adam is better off with his style not winning, so idol doesn't mold him and force him to sing that horrendous victory song. Kris would fare better with idol's manufacturing of artists so it probably worked out best for the both of them. Good for them both! (except Kris having to sing that Kara song, yuck!)

P.S. He is cute though.

People don't always give others a chance if they look 'different'. It's always about the perception behind the look.

I remember Bette Midler on Johnny Carson, many years ago. People thought she was WEIRD! But he showed the world (that he approved) and voila, a great talent.

It's all about 'conformity' and 'mass appeal'. They'll always go with the cookie cutter boy/girl next door type over anything else. It's not always about the best talent, it's about how marketable someone is.

Everything is so over produced today anyway. They can make anyone sound good (as long as they can sing to begin with).

I am well aware of who David Cook is. We have tickets to his re-scheduled show that was cancelled due to his brother's death. He is still in his first year as AI winner. I feel that way too. I was just talking to a friend about how music isn't innovated or raw anymore. The whole grunge thing of the 90s and gangster rap thing - - you may not have liked either one, but those were innovative types of music that emerged from the ground up. Garage bands and freestyle contests produced some of the biggest artists of the 90s.

Today, everything is totally fucking manufactured. Voices are all synthesized, and minus coffee shop music, it is rare that instruments are actually played. It's weird.

My friend told me I was being old and crochety, and that every generation has always thought this. So who knows...

One last thing - this? SO TRUE. Adam is not a real rocker and never will be because he's too contrived and theatrical. Rock stars have to have something edgy about them; something raw - and quite frankly Adam isn't edgy at all. He dresses and cuts his hair like fucking Pete Wentz, he gives the little show choir smile and wink-y face whenever he sings, and he TRIES to sing AND scream at the same time and it just sounds weird. It doesn't sound anything like Kiss or Aerosmith or Queen or any true rock stars. It sounds like the lead actor in RENT TRYING to sound edgy and hardcore. I know Adam thinks his place is in rock, but I totally think it is in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Okay, totally have to take issue with that statement. Glambert is a better singer than Kelly? Than Carrie Underwears? Than Fantasia? Than half the people on this season - Anoopie, Allison? I absolutely do not agree. Who has the 'best' voice is a totally subjective issue - clearly you think one thing, but as someone who cringed every time Adam took his song up that extra octave, I promise you I do not agree. At all.

My boyfriend thinks AI is retarded, but he payed enough attention as he was walking through the living room while it was on a couple of weeks ago to say, "Why is that guy screaming like that? He sounds like shit." Clearly, Adam's voice is not for everyone.

Just had to say one more thing.

American Idol is everything I hate about today's music because it is completely contrived. Instead of having these kids sing songs from other artists and songwriters, have them write their own songs, play their own music with their instruments. Let's start getting back to music that is in it's purest form. That's how we see who really has the chops.

Let's support the type of musicans that we found in the last decades of the last millennium. I am more of a Janis Joplin, Beatles, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Duran Duran, Peaches and Herb, Dionne Warwick (but only during her B&B days) with a sprinkle of Ace of Base, Robyn, Crystal Waters kind of girl. In those days the soundtrack to your life could have music from across the board. You had so much to choose from you could go in to a music coma. I still listen faithfully to all of those artists above because I found there was an integrity to their music, be it pop, dance, rock, R&B, whatever and it is relevant. I really don't acknowledge music past 2002 (unless it's Kanye with his crazy ass) because I feel that 80s and then 90s were the pinnacle of this art form.

And it's our fault because I truly believe that as a country, just as we have with our morals, values, integrity, etc., we have lowered our musical standards. It started with folks like Britney Spears at the end of '99 and it's been down hill ever since. If were are going to let our children listen her garbage and other people like her, then what do we expect the entertainment industry to do? They will put anything in the hands of children because they know that their tasted in music is a bit hardly discerning. Maybe in 1995 you would have come across a thirteen year old rocking "Little Heaven" or "Fake Plastic Trees" or "Stay With Me Baby" but now? Puhlease.

I mean, once you take away the glitter and the gold, who is really hot right now because of pure talent and originality. Right now very few across ANY genre! We the people who buy the music needs to put an end to the bubble gum, plastic coated entertainment industry and make them earn our money by prodcing talent worth hearing.

FUCK, at this point the last good song I heard was from ROBERT fucking PATTINSON of Twilight fame and I didn't even understand half of the shit was he was singing the first time around but his voice fucking SPOKE to me and he completely plays his own instruments and does song writing. Like really. Do we have to ago across the pond AGAIN to get good shit. From actors nonethless?

To clarify my Kris is hot as fuck statement: I personally found him hotter and hotter every week - maybe because of his stroke-victim mouth? Sex-me eyes? Not sure.
