SuBo Freed!
Susan Boyle checked into the Priory clinic five days ago for "exhaustion." Side note: When I told my mother about this, the first thing she said was, "Lipo and facelift." Deadpan. Anyvaze, SuBo got enough zzzzzs and ate enough Jello, because she's back out in the wild!
Su's brother says that she's completely herself again after pretty much losing it a week ago. Gerry Boyle told GMTV (via The Sun), "She's much happier. She's seems a lot more like herself. Things are becoming clearer for her now. She's now beginning to believe that, 'yes indeed, I will be a singer'."
Even though Susan isn't about to shave her head anytime soon, she's still laying low. Susan is resting up in a secret place. Phew. I hope Pebbles the cat is with her, because he's the only one who understands her. They can have a meow, so Pebbles can calm her down.
In other news, Diversity just entered an undisclosed safe house.

First and last of all...she ain't ugly. She's a normal looking woman for her age. Better than some, worse than some. Her voice is (in my opinion, and I have no classical experience/knowledge to back up this opinion, but I tend not to like anything that sounds like her and yet I do like her voice) beautiful! If there is any truth to her story, it's no wonder she had to take a break. ... She's a lovely lady with a beautiful voice. If she wants to, she should make the most of it. Mother Superior and Hekki - this story reminds me of that movie "Little Voice" with Jane Horrocks (Bubble from Ab Fab). It's been so long since I've seen that movie but I think it has a semi-happy ending, with Little Voice kicking her expoitative mother to the curb. Supposedly, that was really Jane Horrocks singing in the film. Sick talent.

This is said respectfully (I've always enjoyed reading your posts Hekki)...but how can someone make an assessment about Susan Boyle's mental status based on a few episodes of BGT and some TMZ videos? I don't think that anyone can make a diagnosis based on that.

What I probably meant was... how would someone who is not experienced in this business (and we have to admit that music business is harsh at times) and makes an unsecure and self-concious impression survive in the industry by not going coocoo?
I'm thinking about breaking under the pressure and grab for drugs and alcohol etc. And I don't wish this to happen to Susan, of course.
But it's like putting a 10-year-old shy girl on the stage to do her trick.
Some are strong enough and some aren't. I son't think Susan is, that's why a pretty voice is just not enough -I think.

There is this silly tour going on soon where all final contestants travel around the UK to do their thing.
If someone is mentally not quite stable, how will they ever survive a whole tour? And does she think being a singer can be done at her pace from her living room? She has zero stage presents, as far as I'm concerned.
I've done a few concerts myself and know you have to be tough of some sort, if you want to make it (or be really pretty and sleep with the producer).
Having a voice is one thing, but it takes guts and skills to suvive, especially at her age.
Isn't the real story that she's an alcholic?
She was drying out, it wasn't exhaustion.
She spent all of BGT pissed out of her tiny mind.
I LOVE SuBo and am so glad that she is on the mend. I will be one of the first ones to buy her Christmas cd. She is now free to be a much bigger star (now) that she is not tied to the show's obligations.
