But it's also the denial of persons close to her, like her parents and her rep.
Whenever she's had an overdose in reality, she'd be 'exhausted' for everyone else, when she's too drunk to function, she's 'dehydrated', when she forgot her lyrics on the stage and her voice has gone it's 'technical faults'.
No one close to her seems to care enough to say to her face that she has a problem, so she started believeing their lies.

I think he believes that she will hit bottom without him there to do clean-up and decide that she needs to get her shit together. I have come to believe that Amy's severe mental health issues prevent her from realizing when she's at the bottom regarding her drug/alcohol use and behavior. It's time to snatch that chick up and lock her down in a psychiatric facility for a long, long time where some kind of treatment and life plan can be worked out for her to live by whether she likes it or not. The chick's definitely a danger to herself which cancels out her being able to have a say in what she will and will not do...its done wonders for Britney.
