I don't know if you pay any attention to the show or not, (or at the very least, ever watched the first two seasons), you do realize though that Mady complains about EVERYTHING, and is so fucking over-dramatic it's not even funny.
Kate is just used to it. She wasn't denying her of anything, she just wasn't giving in to her pathetic cries for anything and everything all the god damn time. The children were getting water either way. Kate wasn't about to let Mady have it first and not the other 7 children. If you heard, there was no time for it, they were going to start the interview.

This comment is towards Lauren JON is NOT lazy as you say, hes at home with the kids while Kate is away on book tours. If you actually pay attention to the show Jon does do majority of the work and tries his best even with Kate constantly nagging at him and emasculating in front of America. The reason Jon wasn't there was probably because Kate didn't want him there, face it she is a bitch. All of these people think Kate is a super mom but she's not, even her own family said she doesn't do all the things a mother should do daily, she's doing all the shows just for the money.Yes, we all know Mady is a drama queen but you can tell she wasn't feeling well and Kate just drinks water in front of her, your kids should always come first no matter what.I totally agree with Esher's points.

I heard Hollywood child stars have a paid guardian with them at all times and they have to watch the chikldren eat their three meals a day so to make sure they eat. Why? Because it's the law!! But there are no laws in reality shows. These kids have no real life and it's all a lie and manufactured. Imagine when these cameras are all gone? They call their mother by their babysitters' name!! Kate is away from home 20 days out of the month. She's always touring and on the road. If they want her so bad, they can pay for the entire family to come too. They only got that show because of the kids.

And all these recent trips to the beach and park is all PR. So I have fallen in love with Dlisted but this was really stupid.
The child is a stage child and she knows what to say to get what she wants because her mother does not want to look bad on TV.
She denied her water because (if you have watched or had children you understood this) if one child has water they ALL MUST HAVE WATER. She also said that she would have drinks for them after the interview.
AND Kate did reach for the water bottle to hand to Maddy but then the cameras went on.

wow, i can tell some of you people don't have kids and probably never should.

the kids said they haven't had a drink "ALL DAY" or something like that. They were thirsty, give them some water.

All she cares about is getting the interview done. If you were thirsty, you'd ask for some water. WHy couldn't she say "hey, the kids need cups of water?" some stage help would have gotten it for her.

I think everyone is overreacting in this case. Possumhead didn't torture her kid there by not giving her water immediately. It's not like the mom guzzled down a bottle and laughed "bwhahaha! No water for you!" It seems to me Kate took a sip to clear her throat for the interview. Mady is a typical kid who exaggerated her thirst and so many people are buying her shit. She hasn't drank anything just the same way my son says "But you NEVER buy me anything" as we trudge through two rooms full of his toys, books, games, etc.

And truth be told, if she gave that brat a drink at that moment, the rest of the brood would want one at that moment too, and then they'd all be doing the pee-pee dance two minutes later. It's okay to have kids wait a few minutes for something, even water (if it isn't an emergency). Delayed gratification is a good thing.

While I agree that Kate is a bitch, I think this particular thing is blown way out of proportion. I don't think she was "denying" Mady water....she honestly was just not paying any attention to her. She asked for water so that she could speak clearly when being interviewed, but she did completely ignore Mady. Once she finally realized that Mady was really thirsty, she went to reach for the bottle, but couldn't grab it and then they were going on camera. Mady will NOT die from not having water for the minute or two of the interview.

Of course, that doesn't make Kate any better of a mother, but like to keep it real.
