Open Post: Hosted By Jakey & Reese's Matchy Matchy Outfits
Isn't this precious? It reminds of my junior high school days when my friends (who were all girls, duh) wanted to dress the same every Friday for some stupid reason. It was always an epic failure! No matter how hard we tried, we never matched.
For example: we would all agree to wear a red-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes, because that's something we all had in our closet. Friday would come and not one bitch would get it right. One bitch would wear a hot pink t-shirt with blue jeans and white shoes. Another ho would wear a red t-shirt with a giant Tasmanian Devil on the front. The rest of us would claim we forgot and wear something completely different. This would cause one dumb ho to ask the important question, "How can we be down forever if we can't even do this one little thing together? The school needs to know how tight we are." Then we would all hug and promise to try harder next week. But nobody would. Junior high was so bizarre.
Come to think of it. I'm no longer friends with any of those bitches, so they were totally right. There's no way we could be friends forever since we couldn't even come together by wearing the same outfit on the same day!
Here's Jakey and Reese in DC yesterday proving that they will be best homegirls til the end of time. Although, I wish they would've worn Jakey's first choice for a matching outfit: assless hot pink coochie cutters and a midriff t-shirt with the words "Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me?" written on the front.

Devilgirl, you obviously never met the evil witch doctor that I did. Evil as the night is dark. When you come across him at a Nola meeting give me a call. Im not speaking of this!
-------------------------
No, because like I said, there are no "witch" doctors in voodoo.
There are off shoot religions or practices that may involve a witch doctor, but REAL voodoo only has priest and there are different kinds who practice different aspects of the religion and serve a specific purpose.

Yes, that is our understanding -- most of Algiers is fairly dangerous but POINT Algiers is safe-ish. It's the closest area to getting onto the ferry that takes everyone into the French Quarter. But it looks like we're staying put until at least October. Unless a MIRACLE happens and we both get job offers...

Haaaaaaaaay!!! I've been trying to make a move to NOLA, but shit keeps getting in the way. Weird that...
----------------------
Me too. In fact my parents and I went house hunting for me in March 2005 , as I had decided to make the move South. Naturally we were heading back the week after the Hurricane hit, so my dream of moving to NOLA was dashed. NOLA always felt like home to me, even when my mother and I were there when I was a kid. Love it, but won't move there now.

From what I have seen, the popular media (movie, TV, horror stories) seem to fan the flames of intolerance and ignorance regarding voodoo.
I believe, and I'm probably wrong, voodoo is essentially a nature-centered religion where the adherents try to attune themselves to the natural forces in our world.
Attune to beneficient forces to assist people and attune to maleficient forces to protect against them.
Adherents use herbs, spices, stones, bones, etc. to focus on and draw into themselves certain natural forces.
How far off-base am I?

The condo we stayed at belonged to a college friends grandparents. I think there were 15 people in rather small condo. COming and going all hours of the day and night. drunk from dawn to dawn! Ahhhh. GOood times.

Exactly.
Devout practitioners do welcome people of serious interest to learn and study under them. You do not have to belong to their church. They dislike those who abuse the religion and use it as a means for evil or revenge.

Like all religions, in the hands of greedy, rapacious scoundrels voodoo can be used to commit evil.
Voodoo should not be messed with because its adherents are very devout and, from what I understand, do not take lightly to folks abuses their faith.

If you are referring to my suggestion that The Bale portray The Duchess in the Alice movie, please understand that The Duchess is the only character with the gall to offend The Queen and not lose her head. Also, only someone secure in his masculinity could pull off the role.
Take a gander at Tenniel's drawing of The Duchess.

Besides, I'd hate to see The Bale in a wussy role like The King Of Hearts. But, I'd like to see him and The Depp together again.

Queen of Poo, Is not that i don't believe in ghosts is just that i'm more scared of a real person being inside my house, that could hurt me, than ghosts.
I know some (ghots) can actually cause harm on certain people, but I'm still a bit shocked of what my dad told me.

cool story!!
I've seen a ghost but didn't have "contact" with it.
I'd tell the story but it's not spectacular and I'm on this teeny keyboard that makes it hard to type.
I love the paranormal and yet, very little spooky shit happens to me. I suppose it could be b/c of all those vials of Holy Water around the house and blessed rosaries...

I just moved to Kansas because I needed to get out of that house. I sold it and ran like hell. Roman Catholic Church, you dont say. I will look for one.
----------------------
Ok, QoP, good luck.
I think it's so funny this came up today, being that my dad called me to tell me he was visiting a great aunt's house (she passed away years ago but my dad got her house because he cared for her and were close),
The house has two apartments in the back one on top of the other, and the house in the front was divided into two apts as weel..
so he has workers working on the backyard, and one of them asks my dad
"who else lives down here?" And my dad answers "just the couple in that apt at the front of the house" and the worker tells him " I saw someone" my dad tells him "Maybe someone came in" (there is a back door and the neighbors know my dad)
the worker says "I just saw and old lady down here, she said hello but then when i turned again she was gone" my dad didn't want to scare him so he was oh really?? what did she looked like??
The worker proceed to describe the lady, who from the description sounds like it was my greatauntie, so my dad went to visit her at the cemetery and cleaned and brought her flowers, and told here, what's wrong? leave the workers so they can make your house a better place (or something like that)
i don't know what to make of this.
