Farrah Fawcett And Ryan O'Neal Are Getting Married

Why in the world does he wait till she's on her death bed before he marries her??? Money that's why!!! Just to get his name and face on TV and the tabloids. He's nothing but a loser!

I think it's great that he's marrying her. But I gotta say, I would love to see his face when suddenly, after marrying her, her cancer goes into remission.

Motive? How about the guy has fucking worked in the last 20 fucking years! Fucking deadbeat is going to pick at her bones - ass clown!

They are totally the Tommy Lee/Pamela Anderson of their generation.

If they want to make it legal after all these years, I think they should by all means. If it makes them both happy.

Gonna be a grade-A reception.

I wouldn't defend Ryan O'Neal regarding his character but I do have to say he wasn't a bad actor -- much better than a lot of present day eye candy stars -- and he had a great presence on camera. That said, whichever way his career went was probably due to his personal problems and just plain bad luck. As for the marriage thing -- well, I'm not that cynical. It was always something they said they intended on doing and even with this most humbling of illness, God has given Farrah the gift to close out her life as she wants. So if she feels marrying Ryan O'Neal is something she should've or would've done and wants to do it now, I see no harm in it. The less shoulda's or woulda's she has, the better. I might be getting all religious or weepy but my mother passed away from this same cancer after 4 years and it was stressful, awful, sad, but in hindsight, that time and the preparation of "letting go" was a blessing. And as for the rights to her image and property... well, it has to go to someone and it might as well be him. At least he's not some guy she momentarily hooked up with or an opportunist lawyer. Whether we deem their relationship healthy or not, they pretty much each other's family and have been through a lot together.

in spite of all the tawdry shite and especially in farrah's time of need, i am loving this news!!!! i am so happy for them, this actual fairy tale stuff....godspeed!!!!!

I just watched the video on YouTube and she seems to be really REALLY high and disconnected. I didn't grow up "loving" Charlie's Angels nor Farraw Fawcett, so I have no special feelings towards her. Maybe that's why I'm able to see the whole picture. To me, both are fucked up and responsible for their fucked up son and their fucked up co-dependent relationship. That Ryan dude didn't raise the son by his own, Farrah must have been THERE since he (Redmond) started showing signs of being a mess... but where was she? living under a rock?. I just read that there have been rumors for years about HER being a drug addict too. I feel sorry for her, I really do, but that doesn't mean she gets a pass for being such an irresponsible parent now that she has cancer and she's dying. You can't blame that Ryan man only, when it takes two to tango. No normal person stands by a messed up partner's side for years without having something wrong in the head too.

Farrah's type of cancer rarely kills. She ignored the symptoms for a long time, then refused to have it treated appropriately because she was too vain to lose her hair and have a colostomy.

Then she plays the drama game going to Germany for drastic (and useless) treatment as if the doctors here wouldn't help her.

Those were her decisions, so while I don't wish anything bad on anyone, it didn't have to turn out this way for her.

And yes, I know what it's like. I had breast cancer at age 37 with two young boys, and I did the most drastic treatment (mastectomy and two types of chemo) because I wanted to stay around. It was miserable but I'm still here 11 years later and counting.

I would feel better about this if Farrah had asked him. Kind of think R.O. wants the rights to her work, so he can control the profits. Everything about this situation is just very, very sad.

Poor kids. Especially Redmond.

Money doesn't make life easier. Sometimes it makes things much more difficult.

But I have to ask: WHERE WAS Farrah, while Redmond was getting so very messed up?

That said, I feel badly for her, too.

I suspect that Farrah has already got her affairs in order... and set up a trust with it benefiting her only child. She is a very wealthy woman. Whom made the decision not to marry Ryan back in the 80's. Which probably was the smartest thing she ever did.

Farrah did have a nasty divorce from Lee Mayors* and basically only got to keep her house.

Farrah may have came off ditsy but the girl isn't dumb.
