Michael Jackson Has Died
TMZ is reporting that that Michael Jackson died in Los Angeles from cardiac arrest. The Los Angeles Times, AP, CNN and CBS all confirm the report. The L.A. Times says doctors pronounced him dead after he arrived at the hospital in a deep coma. He was only 50-years-old.
I really don't know what to say. I am completely shocked. This doesn't feel like real life! TMZ has all the details. I'll write a little more later.
And I'm back (FYI: this part was written a couple of hours later). I just finished watching hours upon hours of Michael Jackson coverage and I still don't really know what to say. I will say that the dude made awesome music. That's a fact. You know you busted your shit to at least one Michael Jackson song in your bedroom, a club, a parking lot, a high school gymnasium, etc... The first time I ever drunkenly fell off the stage at a club, "Scream" was playing. Yes, I remember that. I also remember staying up late to watch the premiere of "Remember the Time" on MTV (back when MTV still played videos). I recorded it over Maid to Over on VHS, just so I could watch it a bunch of times.
Michael Jackson's music will live on forever. Hos will be dancing to it for the rest of eternity. Below is my favorite Michael Jackson song. It's also one of my favorite karaoke songs. I mean, you can't lose when singing about special rat friends:

Sadness. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but shouldn't people be thinking about finding Tatum O'Neal to comment on both Farrah's AND Michael Jackson's deaths today? i second that. the post really summed up how i felt/how i'm feeling. my earliest memories of michael are from the Bad video, and watching footage of his concerts. more specifically, watching the ppl being passed to security because they had fainted.
on a more negative note, i have a lot of sympathy for what he went through growing up. i knew his dad was tough, and based on his statement regarding michael being in the hospital, that he was extremely callous. joe did a number on him. when i look at older pictures of michael with his original nose, i see joe jackson. i believe michael didn't want any part of that. it's just a shame that he didn't have the right ppl around him when it counted. hopefully he can finally rest in peace.
mtv didn't have it entirely correct when they said he was the voice of a generation. he was the voice of many generations.

ITA. They say the same thing happened with Elvis. Elvis' "friends" were coming out with a book that completely portrayed him in a negative light. The men that wrote the book were his best friends since he was young and they came out with all nasty things. Some people think that's what pushed him over the edge.

i've been to america...visited ellis island as well :) loved it over there!
as for mike...when i first read reports about his death i immediately ran to my mother and sis (who's a fan) to tell them this said news. after a few minutes i was in their faces again telling them that he did not die. i don't know how many times i've been running back and forth telling them he died and the next minute that he was alive.
it was so confusing and i was hoping it would be untrue or that he was gonna pull through. one thing is certain...i will never forget june 25th of 2009.
it's 5:19 am here and i am still up. i will go to sleep soon for a few hours. i can't believe michael jackson died. i really can't!

Have been revolted and repulsed by what he has done in the last few years but, looking at the pictures of him in his early days, it breaks my heart. Rest in peace, Michael. May you finally find it.

I will truly miss Michael Jackson for all that he gave people in the first 25 years of his life.
