It seems that every celebrity on the planet has issued a statement about the passing of Michael Jackson. Seriously, every single. Below is just a few from those who worked with him or knew him well. Understandably, Elizabeth Taylor just can't deal right now, so her rep said she will issue a statement at a later time.

sorry about that, i haven't had my coffee either. it's just my opinion, i've experienced over the years some folks not appreciating someone's talent simply due to their appearance, what they are. i don't think tina's appeal is/was as broad as micheal's simply because she's female. for example, one time a guy played this song by james taylor from a jukebox in a bar. i knew the song word for word because i heard the original version by bobby womack. when i played him the original version (a much better version) he liked JT's version better. i tested him again, picking a song by a white group that was a remake of something by a black group. same result. it's really sad people still act like this. i think tina's a great talent, i don't her influence was as great as micheal jackson's and i think part of it is simply because he's a guy.

Want to know something? the only person there who sounds honest is Corey Feldman. The rest are just hypocrites, because ignoring that it's Michael Jackson, where were these people when his image started to break apart?. Where were they when he was sued for child molestation?. I know he has a recluse, but I pretty much doubt these people actually took time off their sooo busy schedules to look for him as a "friend" outside Hollywood events, flashlights and cameras. Obviously, those jurors saw more and found him not guilty for a reason and it wasn't celebrity status.
I have recently been involved with a trial that was high profile, everyone in the community screamed for this guys head on a platter, but the evidence wasn't there and we saw MUCH more than what was in the media. I also see countless trials for my schooling and when I was in the law profession, the general public only sees what the media wants them to see.
He was found (not) guilty, I don't know why is that not good enough for some.

As for Cobain death, I never said anything about the coverage of it- I stated that he was the only celeb that "I" got sad about, if only because I couldnt believe he had died- by his own hands or not (which, hasnt been ruled out in the MJ case either, might I add)

I live in DC too and it's just weird, one week that poor security guard at the museum, next week the train crash and now this right here. Weird feeling for me.
And let me say this; lip synching pre dated Micheal Jackson. All those low budget dance shows, the variety shows of the 50's, 60's and 70's. You think those producers, in an effort to keep costs low, would choose to pay a band to play behind the artist rather than play a record and let him/her lip synch to the song? Somewhere along the way some brilliant mind decided to run a recorded tape of an entire song list while the performer lip synched to it live. I'm sure he wasn't the first to do that, I'm sure he adopted the practice especially after it became standard.
Fact is, no performer could sing and dance on the level of Micheal Jackson, there were others but he took it to another level. Even he couldn't have maintained that thruout his life. As far as vapidness and tasteless, 25 million copies sold worldwide.
So fuck the haters. Micheal Jackson even made wearing highwaters cool. Sheeeeit.
