It seems that every celebrity on the planet has issued a statement about the passing of Michael Jackson. Seriously, every single. Below is just a few from those who worked with him or knew him well. Understandably, Elizabeth Taylor just can't deal right now, so her rep said she will issue a statement at a later time.

well, i'm not going to be fake about this. michael was a record and ground breaking artist without a doubt. i too have his music in my childhood memories. however, i will not lie; i find his behavior in recent times questionable at best. i am more pissed off at his entourage past and present. no one every called him out. everyone shielded him and helped him create an unhealthy and suspicious life. he is one person who makes me thankful that i will never be famous.

Maybe part of the devastation is guilt at not staying in touch? Or sorrow over the shambles his life became? (NOT saying whether the allegations were true or false, but I don't think anyone can deny how sad his life was at the end.)

It's funny how all these celebrities, and former employees are making statements. Meanwhile the one celeb we know for a fact was close to him, Liz Taylor, is so messed up by the news she CAN'T make a statement.
Most of the ones making statements probably barely even knew him, or knew him YEARS ago and haven't had any contact with him since. But from the way they all talk they are just devastated. Like they just talked to him last week or something.

When I heard this news yesterday I thought it was bs............I am saddened! When the autopsy report is released, I am afraid we will hear that MJ suffered a cardiac arrest due to Rx medication. This happens daily however, when it happens to a celeb, people pay attention for a while. Remember Heath Ledger, Anna Nichole and now Michael Jackson?!

I am very sad over the loss of Michael Jackson. I see a lot of arguments about if he was a pedophile, or he was a pedophile and right now I don't care. My brother said we need to separate the art from the artist and he's right. He was an incredible performer. I remember being in my room listening to his music for hours on end and attempting to dance like him (I can kind of do a moonwalk). I obviously didn't know MJ personally but I do remember the memories of MY childhood while listening to him and I am forever grateful for that.

What a relief Perez Hilton has his YouTube meltdown followed by his foot in his mouth post yesterday. With all the non-stop Michael Jackson coverage in the next 1-2 weeks I have no doubt CNN or Good Morning America would have that pile on as some type of celebrity/Michael Jackson expert. I am in total shock. My sincere condolences to his family and I will pray for his children. I was expecting another celebrity death after Ed and Farrah (the rule of three), but never dreamed it would be Michael. I thought it would be Walter Kronkite. I grew up listening to the Jackson 5 and I as grew and changed, so did Michael and his music. I can honestly say he contributed many musical memories to the soundtrack of my life. I do not understand the person he became in later years and we will probably never know the real Michael, but I never lost respect for his music and talent. "Shake Your Body" and "Billie Jean" will always make me want to dance. "I'll Be There" will always be one of the greatest pop recordings of all time and a personal favorite.

I'm 46 so I literally grew up with Michael. When I was little I had a Jackson 5 boardgame. I had a crush on him during "Off The Wall". I HAD to buy "Thriller" on cassette even though I rarely bought albums back then. I felt for him when he went through all the allegations and still feel he was innocent. I also feel he was a shrewd man of business. He was always a child and God loves little children. When he got to heaven I know it must have outshown anything he had going on here. My concern now are his children and what will happen to them. So few are talking about his children. Truly RIP Michael.

According to drugs.com, "Overdose symptoms may include extreme drowsiness, muscle weakness, confusion, cold and clammy skin, pinpoint pupils, shallow breathing, slow heart rate, fainting, or coma."

Great question Albatross. I was thinking the very same thing last night. I know Sir Paul was ticked that Jacko had outbid him. Hopefully it will be returned to its rightful owners.
And I really thought that I would have been reading about the death of Lindsay Lohan, Amy Winehouse, Pete Doherty, Courtney Love, or the death of many many celebs that have been tempting fate. Never this, this is shocking.
I'm thinking that cause of death was most likely the ravages of abusing prescription drugs plus probably not eating. He was painfully thin and it was mentioned not long ago about him preparing for this upcoming concert tour that he wasn't eating much and wondering how he would manage to have any strength to take on such an ambitious task.
I have good memories of him from the 70's and early 80's but after that he was basically a freakshow to me. All in all, it is still sad but I felt more sympathy for Farrah. Peace out Sistah.

Here's what perplexes me, a man that could probably moonwalk around most of our asses, thin, trim and healthy, no predisposing conditions that we're aware of, ie; cancer, heart disease, inherited conditions, drops dead at the age of 50? Thanks for a thoughtful response. I do think that there is literally not one good reason for a grown man to share a bed with a child, unless as you say, he is their father. Even then, I wouldn’t make a habit of it but that's about boundaries and privacy not just fear. My youngest would happily sleep with me and my husband but I think people need separate space- by the same token I have knocked on my kid’s doors before entering from when they were toddlers.
It’s interesting that you point out that his friends are Liza and Liz. I am actually a fan of both of these ladies but what they have in common is they grew up in th public eye and never had anything approaching a normal childhood. Birds of a feather and all that. I also think that MJ was so famous, an icon that people, even other famous people could not look at him objectively.
I think what he did was wrong. I also think that even if he was wandering around the planet like a startled fawn and was merely trying to recreate the childhood he never had- I don’t believe that but can see why a fan would want to think that was the case- someone should have stopped him The parents should never have allowed it. The reason these things didn’t happen is his wealth made him untouchable which was a tragedy for him as well as those he came into contact with.
Just out of interest- do you think those kids are biologically his?

It's not all that black or white. At first it seems ridiculously sick for a child to sleep with a grown man, but then we don't know him as a person, what he was like. If you believe people that knew him very close (Liza Minelli, Liz Taylor and others) then he really was the sweetest, most innocent person that ever moonwalked this planet. From all the child-molestation out there it's quite hard to believe that a grown man can innocently sleep with children in the same bed. But can't a father sleep with his son in the same bed? why isn't it possible for him to have felt fatherly love for them?
