It seems that every celebrity on the planet has issued a statement about the passing of Michael Jackson. Seriously, every single. Below is just a few from those who worked with him or knew him well. Understandably, Elizabeth Taylor just can't deal right now, so her rep said she will issue a statement at a later time.
Brooke Shields: "My heart is overcome with sadness for the devastating loss of my true friend Michael. He was an extraordinary friend, artist and contributor to the world. I join his family and his fans in celebrating his incredible life and mourning his untimely passing."
Madonna: "I can't stop crying over the sad news. I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless."

MJ didn't have a chance in hell of reaching old age. This man has been abused and haunted for most of his life solely for being talented. First by his father, then by his obsessed fans and the media. I can't help but draw a comparison to that episode of South Park where Spears and Cyrus were chosen as a human sacrifice for the annual corn harvest. MJ's faith was sealed from day one too. And now the mourners come.

True that. And when the allegations of molestation came, such actions are indefensible but I couldn't help thinking he was failed by so many before he failed us. How many looked the other way when it came to his own abuse and exploitation. As long as money could be made, as long as he could entertain us. So incredibly sad, the life and the death.

* ALL the facts that came out in the trial.

* the fact that we never saw him with an adult girlfriend or boyfriend. EVER. (and don't try to convince me that lisa marie or debbie rowe were EVER romantically involved with him) !

* the FACT that he used to bring his little 10 year old dates into Tower records at midnight -- just jackson, the boy and the driver.

I believe 100% that Jackson was a pedophile.
I couldn't care less that he's gone.
But i remember working at Tower Records on Sunset Blvd. in the early 90's, when Jackson came into the store.
He liked to climb upstairs into the "shoplifters" mirror that we had in the loft. He would just sit there alone and watch the people shop.
That day as he walked into the back room, i noticed a little 5 year old boy on the main floor wearing a michael jackson "beat it" shirt.
we took him and his father into the back room to meet jackson. michael got down on one knee, smiled and said hello to the boy, signed his shirt, shook his hand and patted him on the head.
as long as i live i will never forget the excited, stunned look on the kid's face.
michael treated him like a little king.

Regardless of what happened in his personal life...Michael Jackson has always, and will always entertain many! He was a human being with faults but he was also an artist. We all loved his songs at one point or another, and no other musical artist will ever fill those shoes. It's a sad thing when we can't mourn the death of a person without talk of hatred spewing from people mouths.

Hello, old friend! ;) I feel exactly the same way you do, and I also found out while at work. This is one of those days we'll always remember. The accusations against him really skeeved me out, but since we will likely never know the truth, I'm glad that we are focusing now instead on his immense and undeniable talent. He has always taken me back to a more innocent time (well, at least it was innocent for me!) and represents a very happy part of my childhood memories.
Sigh, today is a hell of a sad day for me...

You know, I had Michael on my bedroom wall when I was 12. I absolutely admire him as a musical genius, but...he has done unspeakeable things and his death is most liely self induced due to drug use. Having a plastic nose is not conducive to cocaine use. The really sad story today is the death of Farrah Fawcett. She fought hard and yeah she was kinda nutty but in a harmless way. She even has a couple of amazing performances to her credit! So, I will mourn Pepaw Ed Mcmahon and Farrah. Michael, I will hope left his children provided for, thank god they can now lead normal, unmasked lives. Hopefully Blanket will also learn his real name, and father.
