It seemed to have a history, and the buildings are years and years and years old. Here in the United States an old building is about 17 (years old), and over there it's from 500 B.C., it's incredible. Also, the way people live over there. They seem to enjoy life a little bit more. They aren't running around as much as in New York. They enjoy time with the family. They don't always have their Blackberries on."

I agree, even though what she said (this time) is true. Alot of the buildings in Spain are very old, they are very proud of their history, and Spanish people are friendly, welcoming, and relaxed.

HELLO, we have cities here with buildings that are fricking centuries old from one coast to the other, if you ever got your ass out of L.A. or Manhattan. Yes, American is a young country by comparison, but that doesn't mean that its history is worthless just because there's less of it.
(That said, if I had her money I'd go on a happy road trip all throughout Europe and just enjoy the whole thing. I'd also do the same to N&S America, and possibly Asia except for the deserty parts). And I'm pretty sure I could praise the awesomeness and qualities of a country without spitting on my own.

Anyone who's gone through the country in a car (rather than a private jet) will tell you that the different states are totally different in attitude, and the different ethnic mixes (some places have lotsa Germans, some lot of Italians, some Mexicans, etc) with all the different cultural quirks that come with it make them almost like countries unto themselves. Plus the wildly different climates you can find here. And Canada's much the same, you get very different attitudes from one place to another.
Lumping them together like ignorant bitches like Fishsticks do is lazy and stupid. But then, I also hate it when ignorant bitches also talk about how "Europe" is so much better/cultured/classier than the US, as if "Europe" were one country rather than a WHOLE FRICKING CONTINENT with dozens of countries.
