There Goes Joe Jackson's Pimp Hand

A little while ago, I made a dumb joke about how Joe Jackson was going to turn Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket into The Jackson 3. Well, don't be surprised if you see them flaunting their jazz hands and pirouettes for dollars at the 3rd Street Promenade, because Joe might have plans for them!

In an interview with Good Morning America (via UsWeekly), Joe said, "I keep watching Paris, She wants to do something." As for Blanket, Joe said the boy has got the moves, "That's what they're saying. He can really dance."

Joe didn't mention Prince Michael's talents, so I guess this means that he's the LaToya?. Don't worry, Prince Michael, the LaToya in the family has the most fun.

Katherine Jackson currently has custody of the kids, but Joe somehow thinks that he does too! When asked who could get permanent custody, he said, "The grandmother, Katherine, and I. There's no one else to do what we can do for them. We should keep them all together and make them happy. And feed them like they're supposed to be fed. And let them get rest ... and grow up to be strong Jacksons."

What he really meant by "strong Jacksons" is "overflowing ATMs."

As far as I know, Katherine and Joe didn't shit under the same roof, so what is this "we" mess? Jafar Jackson needs to know that it's not normal when he looks at his grandkiddies and sees dancing sparkly dollar signs all around them.

Joe, do you see that purdy thumb of yours? Do us all a favor and stick it in your ass as deep as you can, wiggle it around, pull it out and then stick it in your mouth. Keep it there.

from what I gather from this thread, they are married but have been separated for over ten years.

drama, the situation you describe is different to me than being able to appreciate what MJ has done for music with out having to simultaneously taint that by focusing on his actions.

I'm thinking of miles davis, picasso, diego rivera.... artists who were sexist, abusive and addicted, but whats the justice in ignoring "Kind of Blue" just because Miles was a crappy father?

I guess Im separating the art from the artist. Art is god like and its gift is eternal. Man is mortal and weak. That bitch in your theater just sounds whack. ;)

Though I may not agree with his lifestyle, his talent and contributions to music and dance are undeniable.

So is it simply a question of whether you're good enough at your job? I used to do theatre. I know a lot of artsy people. A lot of them are fucked up. One of them was recently banned from a professional theatre here for pulling a gun on someone who broke up with her. She still gets work. I don't get that. She is talented (not enough for people to put up with the crazy, IMHO, but obviously others disagree with me). So that makes all her antics (the gun was only one of many) okay? Or okay to be overlooked because she can play the part? Doesn't work in my world, which is probably why I'm not doing it anymore. I saw a lot of fucked up shit. I could have gone down many paths, & I'm glad I chose the one I did.

DQ! Stoney! *muah*

MJ was NOT a good father; good fathers don't use every drug known to mankind, and have their children brought up by nannies. Period.

rareflower's picture

Papa/missy and dramaqueen

If people think MJ’s personal life should over shadow his work, then can we have a look at Charles Lutwidge Dodgson better known by the pen name Lewis Carroll. His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass, who had rumours about him being a paedophile? Overtime this has been pushed brushed over and his work is celebrated.

Suggestions of paedophilia

Dodgson's friendships with young girls, together with his perceived lack of interest in romantic attachments to adult women, and psychological readings of his work—especially his photographs of nude or semi-nude girls[35]—have all led to speculation that he was a paedophile. This possibility has underpinned numerous modern interpretations of his life and work, particularly Dennis Potter's play Alice and his screenplay for the motion picture, Dreamchild, and even more importantly Robert Wilson's Alice, and a number of recent biographies, including Michael Bakewell's Lewis Carroll: A Biography (1996), Donald Thomas's Lewis Carroll: A Portrait with Background (1995) and Morton N. Cohen's Lewis Carroll: A Biography (1995). All of these works more or less unequivocally assume that Dodgson was a paedophile, albeit a repressed and celibate one.
Cohen claims Dodgson's "sexual energies sought unconventional outlets", and further writes:

We cannot know to what extent sexual urges lay behind Charles's preference for drawing and photographing children in the nude. He contended the preference was entirely aesthetic. But given his emotional attachment to children as well as his aesthetic appreciation of their forms, his assertion that his interest was strictly artistic is naive. He probably felt more than he dared acknowledge, even to himself.[35]

Papa & Missy: I do see your points. It's just so GD hard for me to comprehend. I've long thought it must be the bane of many artists' existences -- that their personal life is on display for the world to see. I have no idea what goes on in my boss' life, & that's just fine with me. I know him in a work relationship, & my feelings about him are only related to the job he does. I don't know if I'm a big enough person to separate the personal & professional.

All that said, I absolutely agree that MJ was an incredibly talented musician who changed the face of pop music. That can never be taken away from him.

I need to have a sit down w/ Corey Feldman. LOL

***********************************************
Let’s not forget what she said back in 2003>>>

Apparently Debbie never really wanted to get pregnant with both Prince Michael and Paris. She did it because Michael had the desire to be a father.

An 2003 interview Debbie had with Us Weekly has just surfaced, which may ruin her chances of getting custody of the children for good. Debbie still plans on fighting for custody of Michael’s children, when the case goes to court on July 13th.

But what she told Us Weekly six years ago didn’t sound like a woman who is aching for her children. She said in the interview, "Parenting is an art; you earn the title. Because you give birth and impregnate someone does not automatically give you the title of mother or father – you earn the title.”

"My kids don’t call me mom because I don’t want them to. They are Michael’s children. It’s not that they’re not my children, but I had them because I wanted him to be a father."

Missy - I heard that he left the Beatles catelog to Paul McCartney

Not too sure about this but i think McCartney bought 50% of the catalog from MJ. And now SONY music wants MJ's debts paid back to them through the other 50% of the catalog. I think.
*****************************************************
Actually it is not correct, MJ sold half to Sony Records and kept the other 50%.
Also . Sir Paul McCartney has responded to the rumours via his own website:
http://paulmccartney.com/news.php#/1674/2009-07

For The Record - Message From Paul
Some time ago, the media came up with the idea that Michael Jackson was going to leave his share in the Beatles songs to me in his will which was completely made up and something I didn’t believe for a second.

Now the report is that I am devastated to find that he didn’t leave the songs to me. This is completely untrue. I had not thought for one minute that the original report was true and therefore, the report that I’m devastated is also totally false, so don’t believe everything you read folks!

In fact, though Michael and I drifted apart over the years, we never really fell out, and I have fond memories of our time together.

At times like this, the press do tend to make things up, so occasionally, I feel the need to put the record straight.

"Sorry, I have to disagree. I still maintain that had Katherine been there for him thru thick & thin, he would not have been so traumatized.

While I realize that the charges were never founded, I take the opposite stance as well. I think it's a shame that someone who had so much to offer the world of music conducted his personal life in such a disgusting manner. (If the allegations were true.) & (again, if true) I think they SHOULD overshadow the other stuff. Isn't that one of the reasons so many have problems with celebrities getting away with things us mere mortals wouldn't? Because, regardless of who you are, if you live in this world, you should be held to the same standard as everyone else?

I'm really not trying to be a bitch -- I'm trying to discuss this objectively."

Oh, I know you're not trying to be a "bitch." Discussions are healthy.

But back in the day, it was frowned upon for someone to divorce. Hell, my grandparents were miserable together, but once my grandma died, I believe my Grandpa found an appreciation for her. The stuff she did, etc., etc. Women didn't have a place in the household back in the early 20th Century, other than doing the cooking, cleaning, making and raising babies. She didn't have much say. I'm sure she saw a lot of abuse; I'm not saying she didn't, but back in the day, women were told they had to please the man and do what they say. And sadly, many women today still do fall in that same category.

Now, we as Americans can sometimes forgive people for what happened in their personal life. Hell, look at R. Kelly.

I'm not saying that if he did what he was accused of isn't wrong, I'm saying that if it WERE true he had to live with that guilt his whole life. Not us. We weren't the ones that did it to the kid/kids.

MJ had a horrible life. And I think him building Neverland and having kids to come over was a way for him to relieve the childhood he never had. You gotta think of it from a mental standpoint - the guy was not all there. But he did a lot for society and for music, including being one of the biggest contributors to charity. Love him or hate him, you gotta respect the man for the things he did for society, music and entertainment.

I feel that if the art is great, let it speak for itself and never taint it by associating it with the unscrupulous actions of its creator.

So many matrepieces have been created by people who were abusive, addicted, etc. But art is always pure in its beauty. We would be robbed of many great creations if we dismissed art in accordance with our moral judgements of the artist.

Yeah, Janet has a little bit of extra junk in the trunk, but she seems sweet so I don't make fun of her. I just think Janet is the best person to take them because she is estimated to be worth $150 million so she wouldn't be after their money and the way Paris and Blanket were hanging on her at the memorial showed they feel safe with her. I also read that she was "horrified" with her father with the way he acted at the BET awards.
____________________________________________

This is where we will just have to agree to disagree. I think Janet has the freak family gene as well. She was raised in an abusive home, played an abused child on Good Times, had a marriage and hid it, supposedly has a secret child. The children cling to her, but really what else do they know? They were afterall raised by MJ. But if it were between her and ma and paw Jackson, I would have to go with her.
