MiserAlba & Chupa?
Well, this is an odd couple. Last night in Malibu, MiserAlba and Rachel "Chupacabra" Zoe had a meal together. Well, MiserAbla probably ate while Chupa just nibbled from a Ziploc bag filled with the eyelashes of babies and Nicole Richie's old dried-up fat cells. Chupa's diet explains why her mop looks like a scarecrow's armpit hair......
Seriously, what in the name of singed Barbie hair is that on her head?! I just want to throw a gallon of Gatorade over Chupa's head, because her hair is looking mighty thirsty. A bottle of lotion will instantly dry up just by looking at her hay head. Put a Wesson factory on it!

I guess what I'm trying to say is that most women who use formula put the baby on a schedule - *their* schedule, so it's easier, rather then feeding the baby on demand and having to sit & nurse for 20 or 30 minutes whenever the baby requires it. Also, if you're working outside the home,obviously breastfeeding is logistically more difficult.
I think women should do whatever works for them. However, I'm a firm proponent of breast-feeding if possible.

Which, for me, is the exact opposite. I don't like making garbage, and I don't like messing with dishes and the whole warming process...buying, stocking, storing...all that stuff. Even pumping. Bah! I tried it once and even my body was like: "WTF? No baby? Forget it!" I can never figure out why anyone would choose that huge mess when you can just pop them on and get it over with, easy peasy. I had problems at the beginning too, the first week was a nightmare but they did tell me that could happen and that it would pass so I din't sweat it too much...

I think breastfeeding is a much bigger time commitment and even though it's more convenient to just latch the baby on, when it's hungry, you gotta pump etc if you're not around all the time. I think a lot of women shy away from it, cuz of that. It's easier and quicker to feed them formula.

I jumped in too:) And I didn't feel that was really clear either.... What I mean is - monkey-see, monkey-do, but way more complicated. I'm not surprised to hear a DLister say "I'm the only one"...it's one of the reasons we're attracted to this place. The majority says "Buy, buy, buy" and we say "Hold up a minute. WHAT is that, exactly, you're tryna sell me??"
Ugh I don't even know how to say it without going on and on about it...but it's like: a majority is often maintained simply by being the majority. It's more appealing to more people to just fit in, than to say: "In my heart, that doesn't feel right - I'm going to do it differently." and have to face the weirded out and, sometimes angry reactions of the majority.

Seriously? Sorry to jump in here, but I just had my daughter a month ago and I am the only one who is breastfeeding. (I have no judgements against those who choses not to, just an observation.)
Nevermind Gatorade, this bitch needs Pedialyte for that head, she is missing something, maybe she overwashes it. I wash my hair every 2 days and it looks its best on the 3rd day, your hair needs its oils. The word chupacabra is perfecto for her MK, you're a genius. Hekki- Really? I live in a pretty liberal but well educated town and it seems the women are all into natural birthing/breast feeding.. it's kind of trendy now to be doing that:) I agree other cultures seem to fall into that more easily than Americans but yeah.
I think it's great to do if the woman can. Many things can be prohibitive (and i did it as long as i could.. very painful- had consultants help me but my firstborn latched on like a piranha. and had teeth quickly after:)

Well, all I can say is that breastfeeding helps you lose the weight. I got to my pre-preg weight 8 weeks after giving birth to my third child. No exercise, eating like a PIG. And for some reason, my cheekbones are more prominent now.
I can't figure out why I'm the only American woman I know who breastfeeds. Everyone in my affluent neighborhood does formula (even the stay-at-home moms). The only women I know who breastfed their babies are from other countries.
But I digress.
