While I have no doubt that she has always felt like a girl how has a sixteen year old done all of the psych work usually necessary to be OK'd for gender reassignment surgery? I have a friend that's been doing therapy and living as a woman since 16 and she's in her mid-twenties and hasn't done surgery yet.

I disagree with the popular opinion on this girl's surgery. If she's known her entire life that she was a girl in a boy's body, then the surgery should be done at a young enough age that she's not forced to live in confusion for any longer than she has too. It's not like she snuck off to buy a blackmarket vag from an alley vendor after a couple shots of jagger and an 8 ball. And good for her parents for being so supportive. I'm actually more fine with this than I am with the 13 year old's that are getting fake titties for their birthday.

I feel kind of conflicted that she got the surgery so young. What if she regrets it as an adult? I know I deeply regret lots of things I did at 16. She does make a pretty girl, though. Just hope she doesn't change her mind later.
