Panties Man! - 26-year-old Pete Simson told his girlfriend Hannah McDonagh they were going to go see an arty French movie at a theater in Bristol, England. When the lights went down, instead of the movie playing, a 5-minute music video of Petey in different kinds of chonies lip-synching to a Daniel Bedingfield song came up. Petey made the romantical video with friends as a way of proposing to girlfriend. Yeah, to his girlfriend and not to a pair of pants.
Everyone in the movie theater was in on it. If I was there and nobody told my ass, I would probably think I was really watching the arty French movie. Well, some of them are really like that!
When the video finished and the laughing/dry heaving stopped, Petey got down on one knee and asked Hannah to be his. She said yes. Pete said, "I wanted to propose in a way that was thoughtful but I have never taken myself very seriously so a romantic meal wouldn't be in keeping with my character." It's not about moral superiority or anything. It's one of those dumb things that too many bad sites do or allow. When it catches on, people rush to be first and post crap, instead of trying to think of something funny or interesting. Then the first FIRST starts a food-fight with other FIRST variants. Pretty soon the first half-page of each thread is garbage.
I'd say that Dlisted (the posters themselves, not MK) has discouraged FIRST throughout the blog's existence.
