Adam Yauch Of Beastie Boys Has Treatable Cancer
The Beastie Boys have put the release of their new album on pause and canceled their upcoming tour so that MCA (aka Adam Yauch) can get surgery on a cancerous tumor doctors found on his left parotid gland. The tumor isn't going to eff with his voice, but Adam will have to go through treatment. Adam explains it all in the message above and he even apologizes to the fans for having to go away for a quick minute. Dude doesn't have to apologize. Get bettah, MCA.

Adam Yauch will turn 45 on Aug. 5, and as a gift to their fans, they will release of their forthcoming album. But, it was announced on July 20th that the upcoming album and tour from legendary rock/rap group the Beastie Boys will have to be postponed, so that member Adam Yauch can begin treatment for cancer. Adam Yauch was diagnosed with cancer of the parotid gland, one of the saliva glands. It isn't terribly serious, but it does require treatment. Yauch, also known as MCA in the group, is the bands' bass player and was one of the earliest members before they switched to hip hop from punk. Let's hope Adam Yauch has a swift and successful recovery.
