Lauren Bacall Is Not A Twihard
Lauren Bacall is Twittering! At least, I hope this is her Twitter, because that means she will deliver countless shiny and bitchy gems. Nobody tells it like a memaw, because they really don't give an eff. And if you don't agree with them, they will whoop you with a switch, a garden hoe, or a....shoe. The latter was Lauren's weapon of choice when she was tempted to beat some sense into her granddaughter over the Twilight craze. Lauren Twittered:
"Yes, I saw Twilight - my granddaughter made me watch it, she said it was the greatest vampire film ever. After the 'film' was over I wanted to smack her across her head with my shoe, but I do not want a (tell-all) book called Grannie Dearest written on me when I die. So instead I gave her a DVD of Murnau's 1922 masterpiece Nosferatu and told her, 'Now that's a vampire film!' And that goes for all of you! Watch Nosferatu instead!"
You crazed Twihards out there shouldn't even bother trying to attack Lauren for her comments. You will lose. In fact, Lauren might be a vampire herself, so you should get on your knees and worship her. I mean, I get twitchy every time I look at Lauren's furry worm brows, but I quickly file those thoughts under "Don't Go There." Because Lauren is always right

Ahh, it's part of life that the oldsters always dismiss the youngsters, forgetting how it was when they were young. Kids don't wanna watch "Nosferatu."

I love Lauren Bacall and she is right, Nosferatu is the best vampire movie - Now you won't get hot over the vamp in Nosferatu and that is the difference, It's creepy, you'll be scared (not in the way movies these days make you scared with lots of blood and gore but eerie/scary)It scared me much like the original Night of Living Dead still scares me to this day - and I watch almost everything that is labeled horror - Now if you want sexy, Frank Langella in Dracula was the first vampire that I thought was sexxxy...

But she's always complaining about something. This bitch whines like her Depends are on too tight.
hahaha
Swear to ME!
And Miss Bacall is correct!
TWILIGHT IS SHIT.
Nosferatu is the BEST vampire movie ever shot.
(with 100% vampire to boot).
Totally agree. I was curious, so I read "Twilight." Not well written at all, but entertaining in a teen-angsty, mindless sort of way. It was just okay. But the books after it got worse and worse and worse. Just horrendous. I kept getting pissed and bitching about how bad they sucked, but I had to see it through to the end (it's an OCD thing). Saw the movie for the eye candy, but even the pretty faces couldn't save this piece of shit "film." Terrible acting throughout. I mean, *really* terrible. Not every film has to be a masterpiece, but really...it should at least be watchable.
BTW: Nosferatu is excellent! And scary as fuck. If you like Nosferatu, you should also see Shadow of the Vampire with Willem Dafoe. AWESOME! The sexiest vampires were Lugosi, Langella, Chris Sarandon, and most of all, Gary Oldman. The only thing wrong with that film (besides not enough young, hot Oldman as someone already mentioned) is the supporting cast: Winona Ryder (sucked) and Keanu Reeves (royally sucked).

"Interview With a Vampire" is 100x's better than "Twilight". Heck, "Dark Shadows" cheesiness is 1000 times better than "Twilight"!!
Ms Bacall, you have good taste. And your grandson is kinda hot (albeit a bit douchey-faced).
Hah. I love it. You rock for that, Lauren Bacall.

Love her.
And I love movies, books, and music that aren't from my generation. Why confine yourself to your generation? Though there were quite a few duds from the past, too. That has to be admitted.

Ms. Bacall comes from an era when celebrities actually had talent and class and weren't attention seeking whores.
AMEN!!! We desperately need to bring back that era!
And she's right, when I think of vampire movies, I think of the old Dracula films and actually being creeped out. I'm a big bookworm but the Twilight series never appealed to me. I so hate my generation sometimes.

Lauren is spoke the truth. fuck twilight, Nosferatu is where it's at.
Lauren is right. I'm sure someone of her age can enjoy a novelty when it's decent, which Twilight is not. The lack of depth to the characters is sickening.
Even Interview with the Vampire is better.
I loved you to begin but now I love you even more for this!

LMAO!! Lauren Bacall is the shit and she's right about Nosferatu! Salem's Lot is another panty crapper. Today's sexy teen/20 something vampire themes might be all the rage but vampires are SUPPOSED to be scary. They're the living dead after all! I challenge any Twihard to watch Nosferatu or SL....home alone...at night...during a storm and then go bed and actually sleep.
She is funny!
And she is so right about Twilight being lame and Nosferatu being good...that is some terrifying flick...I am surprised that is out on DVD. Hopefully, her granddaughter's taste will improve.
I can see Lauren as Dorothy in a remake of the Golden Girls. She looks like she doesn't take any shit from anyone.

She's probably one of those old people who always bitches and moans that in the old days everything was better. Get over it, times change.
------------------------
That's sort of what I'm thinking. She has her favorite movies and this young generation will have their own favorite movies. I think the reason the teens are going so crazy over this movie is that instead of an ugly scary vampire, you have a very good looking vampire that they are all lusting after. Robert Pattinson is okay, but made up like Edward Cullen he is pretty sexy - sort of a James Dean of the undead.

Two seconds on the Twitter page and you can tell it's not Lauren Bacall posting.
HA! That's fucking awesome. And she's right about Nosferatu... that's got to be one of the creepiest films I've ever seen.
Another reason to love this wonderful outspoken old bitch. She tells it like it fucking is. Twilight is a big turd on the cinematic sidewalk, and it makes me froth at the mouth when someone claims it's the best vampire movie ever, which usually means they've never seen any others.
BTW a good original vampire movie is "Perfect Creature" from NZ, with hot vampires in a steampunk world. Also "Near Dark" which is so getting shafted by the blu-ray people. And of course Interview with the Vampire.
And you can't go wrong with the Bela Lugosi and Christopher Lee Draculas, or the 1970s BBC adaptation.
Aaaah, Frank Langella's Dracula. *swoon* That man smoldered with the hotness.
You know what the problem was with that film? NOT ENOUGH FRANK!
Gary Oldman's Dracula. His young, hot, long dark-haired Dracula in the hat and sunglasses. Mind if I swoon again?
You know what the problem was in that film? Not enough of Gary Oldman as the young hotness. Too much monster make-up.
LOL gotta love Lauren .. Dear God, I know this is a lot to ask but can she please live forever?
And let's not forget The Vampire Lovers with Ingrid Pitt... Gayelles amoung us must see that movie... Very sexy!

Ms. Bacall comes from an era when celebrities actually had talent and class and weren't attention seeking whores.
----------------------------------
Oh please, I hate it when people say things like that. In the old days Hollywood was just as slutty and crazy as it is these days. They could just hide it much better because there was no paperazzi. And the press was controlled by the studios. Those studios stopped alot of things from going public. In those days they could get away with murder. Bette davis anyone??? These actresses/actors were just as loco as they are these days. And attention whores excisted as well. Pola Negri anyone?
Oh Cheesus! SALEM'S LOT!!! That dead, floating kid - I still cannot watch! Heres to truly frightening vampires. Oh and FRIGHT NIGHT - scary and sexy at the same time - gotta love that. And what about TRUE BLOOD? Scary, sexy, and funny as hell!

She looks like she belongs in the movie with her white face. That being said, she should STFU. Yes, she brought the hotness in HER day. But she's always complaining about something. This bitch whines like her Depends are on too tight.

Lauren is correct!!
My fave vampire movies are:
SALEM'S LOT..that shit is still scary as fuck.
FRIGHT NIGHT...Chris Sarandon was a hot, hot piece.
As much shit as I heard about Twilight, I expected it to be half way decent, but it bored the fuck out of me. The depressed girl heroine was lame too. My 8 yr old kid actually likes the movie but even she refers to Bella as "the boring girl".

I've always found the Nosferatu-type vampire the most frightening of all. That was cleverly reprised in "Salem's Lot", which also gave me the No. 2 contender: creepy undead smiling child floating outside my bedroom window.
I know "Twilight" isn't supposed to be scary, but it is. For all the wrong reasons. Chiefly for the legion of twihards it has spawned.
========================================
Bottom-feeder.
It's probably a good thing that young folks have "their Vampires", as we did with our era - (mine was Frank Langella), but I gotta say - Lauren is right. I saw Twilight, and even though the stars were pretty (and had the right other-worldly feel), the acting was not great. Sorry fans - see the Bela Lugosi classic, see Murnau's Nosferatu, see Langella's Drac - hell - see Gary Oldman in Coppola's Dracula...these folks could ACT. Oldman in particular shows the whole range - insanity, blood-lust, fear, sadness - it's all there - along with possibly the sexiest love scene between vampire and willing victim (who knew Winona Ryder could be sexy???) ever to grace the Vampire genre....but don't take my word - see them all and judge for yourselves.
"vaya con huevos mi amigos"
Team Bacall all the way. Nosferatu is a scary film.
Which D-List slut said the Twilight Vampires are as scary as Count Von Count from Sesame Street?
Also, rent the later version of Nosferatu (1979) with Klaus Kinski, in German with subtitles. Klaus was intense! Oddly, I found him sexay.
As a fan of the Vampire genre, I also recommend "Vampyr", directed by Carl Theodore Dryer (1932). Damn, it's creepy!
I love how "film" is in quotes. That's how I feel about the Twilight "books".
