Twitter must have been down or some shit, because LeAnn chose to release the statement about her divorce on her website:
“After much thoughtful mutual consideration, Deane [her husband's given name] and I have agreed to move forward with dissolving our marriage. This decision was amicable and we remain committed and caring friends with great admiration for one another. Thank you so much for all of your continued love and support – it is deeply appreciated.”

Oh please, how is talking about the truth worst than sneaking to hotels and friends homes for sex with someone else's wife, "going public" at a golf course/concert while still married, seen leaving LR house, then photographed on a beach hugging each other, and leaking the details of their affair to Star , In Touch, and People magazine? EC and LR aired the dirty laundry a long time ago, so don't blame this on BG. What about the damage that will be done to these kids when they are old enough to see those photos of EC standing next to LR as she smiles like the cat who swallowed the canary? What happens when they are in a grocery store and see those photos of their father hugging LR?
What type of man makes a public statement about how he has his kids best interest at heart and then is spotted vacationing with a woman who takes pleasure in hurting others? What type of man would use his kids to shield himself from the backlash of his affair? What type of man can claim to be a devoted father when he is prancing around LA and Mexico while still married without any concern about the message he is sending his kids? Notice that he didn't tell his mistress to shut up and to be sensitive/respectful as she releases details about their plans to marry and have children. So he and his mistress want people to talk about the affair only if it is benefitting/profitting them.
People complain about BG, but what about the ultimate lessons that this "devoted" father is teaching his sons? That they don't have to abide by their word, lying is okay, family takes the back seat to fame and fortune, being "good looking" entitles you to a free pass, passing the buck is a better option than apologizing and owning up to one's bad behavior, and women are a means to an end(ie-coasting off the publicity from his affair).

She had a big hit in the mid-90's and it was a big deal because she had an amazing voice even though she was only 13 or something. Maybe she had other hits after that, but I don't really listen to country music.

I listen a little bit and I don't think she's been doing that much in country save for that big hit in the 90s. But then she was going through legal stuff with her father and I think for a hot second, she wanted to cross over because she was doing some poppier stuff.
