This family grosses me out. Everytime I hear something about them it makes me think about this story I read about how the babies that are born in those Mormon communities don't come out right because of all the inbreeding.

I don't know much about their family but their kids don't look unhappy. I think the biggest problem I have is that none of them have free will to pave their own way and be their own person. They are all cut from the same cloth to care for the next guy down on the totem pole and I don't see how that is a affords any freedom or sense of self.

there's nothing technically wrong per se with shooting out as many kids as you can (my grandmama had 12) but is it really necessary i guess ??? we don't lose half of our children at birth and we usually don't need them to labor on our farms, etc...i think people's main concern is with the environmental impact, childrens psyche (or lack of)...i know i would not be able to give proper care to 19 kids/posessions/accessories...i mean i'm an only and i was ALWAYS in trouble (not spoiled unfortunately) so i'm on the other end of the spectrum
Hot Slut she is Not. My grandmother had 16 kids and a few miscarriages, so it's not even about her contributing to the overpopulation. It's more about, what others have mentioned, her family is ultra conservative and weird. It would be cool, if she was instead raising babies to be open minded and non judgmental, but that is not the case.
50 years ago this wasn't unheard of... my grandmother had 14 kids. now days with women being more independent, the child baring is now put off longer and society had gotten more "me" focused, where people don't have as many kids 'cause it take away from the "me" part. I really don't see anything wrong with having 19 kids, the duggar's just have an outdated mindset.

I agree, I don't think we need more religious fanatics because although they don't hurt anyone, they're just annoying. What we don't need are America-hating liberals because we have more than enough. OMG that first photo, MK you aren't right honey! OMG I had a C-section (not by choice) I was told they pull out your uterus and put it on a table then cut it open and take the baby out then put it back in.

They took mine out while the uterus while inside me. But afterwards, they do take the uterus out and lay it on the abdomen and totally clean it out. Then they put it back inside and proceed to close you up. From my understanding, the closing back up part is the longest part of the operation. It was for me. Speaking of c-sections, the one I'm talking about was 4 years ago today! My third (and last) child is 4 today!
