I don't fault her at all for living in England or dividing her time between several countries. What I fault her for is that several years ago she slagged of America and Americans as socially beneath her and held up the Brits as the elites of polite society in the world. This was all based on her limited interactions with Brits, namely the very wealthy, and in her opinion, well-bred. In the 18th and 19th centuries a little actress like her would have never been allowed to put her feet under the table of people from the ruling class unless she was part of the entertainment.
