Last month, Katie Price revealed that she was raped several times when she was younger. At the time, Katie really didn't offer up any details, but she is now. Instead of going to the police, Katie went to OK! Magazine, naturally, and told them the man who raped her is a famous celebrity who knows her ex-husband Peter Andre. BLIND ITEM ALERT!
Katie said, "A famous celebrity raped me and Peter knows who it was. It was years ago before I was with Pete, and my friends and family knew about it at the time." When asked why Peter Andre didn't run off to the authorities or de-dick the dude who attacked his wife, Katie said, "I have no idea. He's not the Pete I knew any more. He's being really cruel when he knows exactly who did it."
Katie has her reasons for not going to the police and vowed to never talk about it again. We'll see about that. I won't be surprised if OK! turns this into some blind item guessing game...with prizes. Ugh.

Two quick stories: I was about 20, I was out with friends, came home to my parents house at about 2:00 am. Looked in the fridge, saw we were out of milk. This is seriously like a capital offense in the kiki HH. So I jumped in my car to get some more. Went to the local convenience store, bought some. As I'm coming out, this guy appears out of nowhere, holding a set of jumper cables and asks me for a jump. I am (1) young; (2) female; (3) alone in the middle of the night. Every fiber of my being is screaming at me NOOOOO!!! I politely decline and go home with my gallon of milk. I am a hero to my family in the morning. Fast forward about six months. I'm recounting my story to my Criminal Behavior professor (Dr. Weiner wherever you are, you are a fucking rock star). My professor was the forensic psychiatrist for Prince George's Co, MD (i.e. he determined whether people were fit to stand trial in a really bad fucking section of MD. One of his patient's was a hitman for a drug dealer). He looks at me like I have rocks in my head and says the following: 'There is no doubt in my mind that man intended to hurt you and if you had gone with him, you would have been LUCKY if he'd only raped you.' It creeps me out to this day to think about it.
Second (quite a bit funnier): I'm walking home from work, listening to my iPod. As I'm crossing in front of the Fannie Mae bldg a car comes zooming up and almost hits me. I glare at the men in the car and they glare back. I can see them in my peripheral vision making there way through the circular driveway. I walk past them, and my back is now to the car. I hear in very quick succession door opening and slamming shut and feet pounding the pavement behind me. I have a very clear thought "Oh my Christ. I'm about to be forced into a car. I can't believe this is happening." I tear my iPod off, throw it to my right and throw my bag to my left, assume a fighting stance (because I might be gang raped and murdered but those motherfuckers are going to have to fight this tough bitch for her life) and leap around to confront the person running behind me. And....it's a jogger! The door slamming and the foot pounding was just a total coincidence. Was I embarrassed? Of course, but at least I know it won't make it easy for anyone who thinks they can mess with me. Also, my embarrassment cost me nothing and it makes for a great story.

I'll even give you the flip side, I've been out at all hours of the night and morning and in all kinds of questionable situations and I've never been raped. I even had two "friends" show up on my doorstep drunk one night (when I lived alone), push their way in and try to start shit with me but then THEY thought better of it. And they STILL had to lay low for a long time just becuz everyone around me wouldn't let them be for even thinking it.
Do I count myself lucky? Not really - I just realize I live in a place where men are less likely to cause such harm, whatever the reason. I'm aware of that and I'm grateful for the freedom I've had to just be me and not have to spend ninety percent of every day protecting myself from my neighbours. I wish all women could feel that freedom - it's pretty cool.

Most women are raped by people that they know, not through walking down an alley at 3am. One of my friends was raped in her OWN HOME by an exchange student's 14 year old brother. On a separate occassion she took the precaution of getting a cab back home and you know what, she got raped again. Both before she turned 18. She was overpowered by sick fucks that wanted to rape her, it was not her fault it was theirs. There was no way she put herself at risk and shes small, there was no way she could have fought them off, they knew what they were doing. She was so traumatised she didnt tell anyone for years. Women can take all the precautions they can, and it will only help reduce the risk of being raped in certain situations, not eliminate it.
Totally agree with you two....the MEN are the ones raping. Women are not asking for it, fucking morons! If any of you have ever taken a pysch class in college (not that your ignorant asses would), you would know that human brains tend to blame the victim. Notice how so many people are saying that we should teach our daughters how not to get raped. I wish half as much effort was out into teaching our sons not to be rapists. The system that says that it is the woman's responsibility to make sure she doesn't get raped is the system that says it is her fault when she fails. No blame or responsibility is put on the shoulders of the potential perpetrators of the crime, the responsibility rests with the potential victims of the crime. Not being preachy or trying to start mess, but it is an issue that we need to address and it makes me a little sad to see so many women participating in such an unfair and antiquated "she asked for it" mentality.

One ran away with a taser stuck to him.when it Finally went to trial and the judge let him family had to give a character statement. His LOSER ASS FAMILY and friend BLAMED me??? wtf?? I didn't know this guy from Adam but because i was out at night, it was My fault.. The only person to actually apologize for him was his mom.She was crying and stuff but because of the other people that spoke on his behalf his mom's apology didn't mean anything.NO ONE held him accountable!! he didn't even give up his friend until the judge gave him his sentence..

Fuck! I'm all for taking care of yourself and taking all the precautions when your ass is out there but "YOU'RE ASKING FOR IT"??? WHAT IN THE FUCK? And can I just say, damn her show is low budget without Pete. It used to be they always had someone there to do their stuff for them (hire cars, hotels, rent space for her photoshoots, hire stylist, etc), but without Pete she doesn't really have anyone. I believe she was raped, but I think it happened a long time ago when she was a little girl by some creepy uncle or something. She's a classic case of sexual molestation.
