Ellen Pompeo Gave Birth To A Fruit Bat
Poppin' babies is the theme of September, so Ellen Pompeo joined the club by having her own a few days ago in Los Angeles. Ellen's rep tells UsWeekly that she had a baby girl on September 15th named Stella Luna Pompeo Ivery.
Stella Luna is Ellen and Chris Ivery's first child together.
Stellaluna is also the name of a kiddie book about a bat who is raised by birds. Xtina's bat baby future soulmate was just born!
Not only is Stellaluna the name of a cartoon bat with crack eyes and an uncontrollable tongue, but it also sounds like the name of a light beer. I approve.

I was working for a bookstore when "Stellaluna" came out. I have a little stuffed Stellaluna with Velcro feet. She was hanging from the pull chain of my ceiling fan for the longest time. :)

I'm surprised that everyone seems to like the Luna part of the kid's name. I know someone who named their daughter Luna (but they live in France). The jerk in me always thinks of lunatic though.

Someone bought that book for my daughter when she was little, and we still have it, but I never liked it. I have a 4 year old now who is really liking the Skippyjon Jones books and I enjoy them too. They are fun to read!

Oh man, I loved that book. I'm getting tired of everyone naming their kid Stella though... I used to like that name but now it's played the hell out.

Oh my god. I've read this book to kids I used to babysit for. They even had the stuffed Stellaluna bat.
The book is absolutely precious and one of my (and my kids') favorites. That said, more celebrities should take a page from SMG and FP Jr.'s book when it comes to baby-naming. What is up with the trend of scarring your kid for life with some hideous and/or weird-ass name?

Stellaluna was my kids' favorite book! We had several copies and even had the CD software. As soon as I saw the name I thought, MK is going to go there, and he so did!!!

Stella Luna is a stoopit name. Aside from the book, it means "Star Moon" in Italian.
