Farewell, Soupy Sales

If you're wondering why one of your puppets (everyone should have one in their closet) is looking a little extra weepy this morning, it's because Soupy Sales has been called to heaven. The comedian, children's host and owner of the best stage name in the business passed away last night at a hospice in New York. One of Soupy's friends said that he had a lot of health problems, and that's why he was in the hospice.

Soupy has thousands upon thousands of TV and radio credits, but he might have been best known for his long-running children's shows Lunch with Soupy Sales and The Soupy Sales Show. Soupy was also a regular on game shows like Match Game and What's My Line?.

Soupy is survived by his two sons and four grandchildren.

Rest in peace, Soupy. In heaven, the pies don't hit you, you hit the pies. And now I want pie.

One of TV's greatest blooper moments was on the Soupy Sales show, a stripper was sent out doing the full Monty and he lost it, it was HIGHLARRYUS!

Slapstick comic Soupy Sales died yesterday at age 83. His manager and friend Dave Usher says that sales died at Calvary Hospice in the Bronx, New York, where he was admitted last week...
