Shake 'n Bake - When I was a kid, I always begged my to get this shit because the commercials made it seem like shaking chicken in a bag was the thing to do. My mom always refused, because she knew that you could Shake 'n Bake on the cheap using a plastic grocery bag, stale bread and some Lawry's season salt. Shake 'n Bake was for rich and fancy hos.
Me wanting to Shake 'n Bake so badly was definitely foreshadowing, because now all I do is shake (the old bowl out) 'n bake (until your eyelids go numb)!
I couldn't find my favorite Shake 'n Bake commercial featuring those Southern twins who shout "AND WE HELPED!" at the end, so here's my second favorite with Alice. Sam must have been passed out under a bar stool again, so Pete the Butcher had to cover his shift.

my husband has been begging my vegetarian ass to make shake n' bake for the past few days...i do it (i'm unemployed i pretty much have to) but he totally gets all giddy and excited like a 10 year old at the magical wonder of shake n' bake...
I frickin love this shit and had it all the time as a kid. When my sister was in college, she went to a friend's house for dinner and they had some fabulous tasting chicken. So, she asks the host, "This is amazing! It's shake n' bake, right?" The host was NOT pleased. I would've taken it as the highest of complements.

My Mom often made Shake 'N Bake for pork chops. I seem to remember it being better than the chicken...mostly because regular pork chops were boring.

Shake N Bake looked soooo much more crispy on TV. In reality, it was some semi-crunchy crap sprinkled on top and disgusting goo underneath the chicken.
My mom used it on pork chops and that was pretty good.
I miss my mom. I may have to use some Shit N Bake today in her memory.
