Celine Dion Is No Longer Expecting A Baby
This is sad. There's really no other way to put it. Celine Dion's husband René Angélil told the Journal de Montreal last night that his wife is no longer pregnant. René added, "We're living the reality of the majority of couples who face these procreation techniques. But today, we are full of confidence. Celine is more determined than ever."
Back in August, Celine and René announced that they were expecting their second child after undergoing in vitro fertilization treatment. Celine spoke openly about how she had her embryos frozen in liquid nitrogen shortly after the birth of her son Rene-Charles. Celine was due in May. :(
Update: Over at People, they have more information from Rene. Rene said that Celine was never pregnant. Rene explained, "Dr. Zev Rosenwaks believed that the procedure/pregnancy took, but that wasn't the case. We found out some days later. We were shocked. But you know Céline. She doesn't let go." He said they will keep trying.

Ive had friends who have gone through invitro and to quote them-"the clinics kind of suck you in to keep trying"-they did eventually get pregnant and carry the baby to term and she was 46.....
I had a miscarriage 2 years ago and I sort of thought well if I get pregnant again then its meant to be and my doctors told me that everything was working fine.
In the meantime,it hasnt happened and so we are thinking to adopt a 3-5 year from the US because there are so many kids here who need parents.
I myself wouldnt go through invitro because as far as Im concerned,the parent is the one who raises you NOT who gives birth to you and I dont feel that desperate need to give birth and my husband has 2 kids from his first marriage but I do want to be a mother.
Why did Celine Dion announce the pregnancy so early I wonder?
Miscarriage is so traumatic-it would have been much better for her to go through it privately....

Right? I have friends who are having twins in vitro. Now, I do love these people (sorta) but I feel like...damn, that's cold. They could totally adopt. They tried for so many years and it din't work - to me, THOSE are the kinds of things that are signs from "God". You want children but your body won't produce them. Celine should forget about those invasive IVF treatments and rather turn to adoption. She has a lot to offer a child and if I were a kid from Malawi, I'd go with her before going with Madge.
Hmmm.....it's an awful thing to go through.....but she's not 25 anymore and she must not be ignorant of the risks of getting preggers at 40+.
She must have loss the baby or was never pregnant in the first place. The odds are against her and her husband. At her age it is not going to be easy to get pregnant even with IVF, and carrying the baby full term will be a challenge.

LOL, I don't think so but the one on the stupid Old Navy commercial hinted at it once.
I don't think anyone can appreciate the loss of a pregnancy unless you have experienced it yourself. I felt really bad when I heard about Celine's loss. As another commented mentioned, I remember my lost pregnancy, a daughter, every year on her due date and on the anniversary.
People don't seem to understand that you are an "unfinished mother." I was so strongly bonded to my baby and my dreams for the future. It is very hard to move forward when you have this loss of identity and future plans. Some women are not able to "try again" and put the loss behind them.
I wish Celine all the very best and hope her husband and son bring her comfort.
I'm getting on the "adoption" train. Rene and Celine have a child allready. Why not open up the heart and bring in a child who needs a home? I totally understand why you would want your own child, but nature (and science) are telling Rene and Celine that this is not feasible. As the Auntie of an adopted child, I can't say enough good things about it. I am sure they are heart-broken today, but in a while they should think about adoption.
I hope they have friends/family that can help them consider this option.

Poor Celine. I am shocked she announced the pregnancy so early. Almost everyone I know who has been preggers waits to tell people other than the daddy and immediate relatives after the 1st trimester. Especially if it is a high-risk pregnancy. Good luck to her and her hubby.
I feel bad for them! But....I don't really understand why they didn't wait a hot minute to announce the pregnancy in the first place?? Most people wait until the end of the first trimester to be safe. Miscarriages in the first trimester are unfortunately very common. They didn't even know if the pregnancy "took" for sure, not even a pregnancy test? And they announced to the press that they are pregnant?? I dunno, this seems weird.
