Open Post: Hosted By Brandy Westberry And Some Fuckin' Pie
I know you're just going to label Brandy Westberry of Jacksonville, FL as some dumb hillbilly, but this fine lady is all kinds of smart.
First of all, she knows not to waste her government check on stupid things like shampoo. Second of all, that gap in her teeth is the perfect place to keep her cigarette safe while she's busy adjusting the wire hanger antenna on her TV. Third of all, Brandy's daughter probably learned the word "fuckin'" from her when she was cursing out her boyfriend/second cousin, but homegirl is smart enough to lay the blame on a Hannah Montana doll!
Brandy tells the local news (THIS IS NEWS) that she had to take the batteries out of her daughter's Hannah Montana doll, because it clearly sings "fuckin' pie" instead of "pumpkin pie." Brandy is a genius.
And who doesn't love fuckin' pie (wear a condom)?

@carrie: i taugt special ed for a couple years (good memory crazy in japan)...i plan on going back next year but i needed a break from basically a sleazy for profit sped school (really a factory). sad to say i am NOT surprised the coach did not know but how the hell does that happen? i have NEVER heard of an autisic child being suspended, there should be an emergency IEP instead to discuss placement,options (a one on one aide perhaps for p.e.? ) and usually they do this with all safety issues,harmful or dangerous behavior not pointing fingers at all at your son. sometimes children will self injure, they elope (leave assigned areas/campus,so many other things but it is the school's job (and you are an inolved parent) to figure out an "appropriate" plan...so many school's cut corners with sped because they know the process is lengthy and time consuming to accomodate. i can't tell you how many times i have seen a kid with O.T or speech therapy in the IEP and they never got the hours they were supposed to...you have to ride the school system's ass and annoy and constantly contact them if you want anything done...not that i know that much but if you have questions i may be able to tell you strategies i've seen parents used that work. battery is going to die soon but let me know if i can help...

Crazy thing, when he was in the 7th grade, his PE coach pressed charges against him. He was never told James was autistic and prone to meltdowns, and never told that he is terrified of being fully restrained, so was not prepared for it. My son had thrown a basketball at another student who had bullied him just before class - shoved him into the locker so hard, my son had a deep bruise on his arm from the lock. Anyway, the coach restrained him to the floor, my son was trying to get away from him, and ended up kicking him. So the coach pressed charges.
Once we were there at the courthouse, (what is it called? Not court, but before that, when both parties sit at a table with an advisor...like a moderator, I guess. jeez, can you tell I'm braindead today?) she asked my son to tell his side, James was completely honest. He does not know how to lie. He told everything. He is normally a very very sweet boy, very polite, loves animals and children, and very well-behaved. And that's how he was at the table.
When she asked the coach, he had tears in his eyes. He just said "Everything he said. He was completely honest". He ended up dropping the charges, and shook hands with my son. The school was in serious trouble for not informing the coach of my son's autism, though, and not providing training for him. We had to hire an education attorney to attend his manifestation meeting and IEP meetings.

Carrie - I don't have kids but am sorry for what you and your son are going through right now - I can't imagine how hard it is. Just know that you have lots of good friends here (I've seen all of their posts to you) who care about you and are here to support you.
Carrie, it sounds like your son is getting his rights stomped on. Call the special ed dept of his school and bring on the ADA, girlfriend. I think koko is a sped teacher, if she hasn't passed out from her pain pills already. Everybody else has pain pills but me tonight, dammit. Anyway, koko might know stuff to do. Yesterday I had the sads because I got dumped for an airduster huffing parolee. Then I realized I had been done a great favor. So there's got to be a silver lining somewhere... maybe...

Aw. You know - even just you being there for him makes a big difference. Life is hard - we all have weaknesses that get in our way but when we have people around us that love and support us it can get to be about counting our blessings:)

Sorry, just one of those days. My son, who has autism, was suspended for 5 days for hitting a girl, after a coach yelled at him to stop running on the bleachers (loud noises overwhelm him and he starts panicking and hitting whatever's in his way). The girl was not hurt, but we can't have a manifestation meeting until his 11th cumulative day of suspension. These 5 days will bring it to 9. At the manifestation meeting, they'll say "The behavior is due to his disability" and he can't be given suspension, they'll start looking at other ways to accommodate him. He's in a special needs class, and already has a lot of support, but, jeez, right at Christmastime. Poor kid's had a rough year, so far. First year of highschool.
