Well, first it's about the position he puts her in. Not that hard for Daddy Lohan here - she's a lot younger than he is, he has a famous family...he probably asked her early on about her insecurities...which, likely, include abandonment...and used that information at every opportunity; every argument, every time she doubted, every time she worried or threatened...
