Conan Has A Decision To Make
Yesterday, TMZ said that NBC is moving Jay Leno out of his 10pm home to make way for The Biggest Loser: Toddler Edition. I made that last part up, but I hope it turns out to be true. We need more fat toddlers on TV. Anyway, their source claimed that Leno is sliding back into the 11:30pm slot, leaving Conan O'Brien's future at NBC up in the air. Well, TMZ has a little more information today.
According to their source (who probably looks like this), NBC has given Conan two options. Conan can either jump back a few places to the 12 to 1 slot. Or Conan can go to the trash room, pick out the sturdiest-looking cardboard box, return to his office and collect his things. If Conan goes with the latter, Leno's show will be a full hour. If Conan goes with the former, Leno's show will be thirty minutes.
Conan's team has told NBC that he's considering the offer. However, Conan's people are probably roasting marshmallows on his ass cheeks, because the ginge is fuming mad. Conan does not appreciate the peacock shitting all over his head without warning. If a peacock threw a diarrhea party on your head without asking first, you would be mad too.
And over at CBS, the female interns must be wearing burkas and Nixon masks, because Letterman has probably had an erection for the past 24-hours.

Making Conan move to California ... huge mistake. Conan's show was so New York, he's like a fish out of water in L.A. and it shows. Has to tone down the humor these days, and it's making him ultra-boring. They can bring back his theme song, bring back Andy, keep Max and the 7 but in L.A. and in that time slot, it's just not working.

Conan isn't fun to watch anymore. Since he took Jay's spot he's been so lame. The only hing worth watching on NBC is 30 Rock, which gets little love from the network even though it's one of the few good things they have.

Well said, both of you! Totally agree. Wasn't Conan BOMBING for a long time when he was on at 12:30 way back in the day? NBC waited it out & the show became a hit. What's different about now?
If anything, Fallon should get cancelled & keep Conan AND Leno. (Not a Leno fan, but Jimmy Fallon's show sucks - and this is coming from someone who wanted to marry him during his "SNL" days... Yeah, I don't know, either. Ew.)
How embarrassing for poor Conan--however, showbiz is cutthroat and at least he gets a chance at another job. When I got laid off a few years ago, there wasn't any "lesser job"--just my last paycheck! Oh sheet!
What NBC is doing to Conan is really unjust. I know he was behind Letterman in the ratings, but shouldn't he have been given some time to develop his show at the new hour? Letterman's been #2 for so long, but CBS has kept him anyways and let him do his thing.
Basically, Leno is a sore loser, Conan is blindfolded and on the firing line, and Fallon must be EXCELLENT at sucking cock OR he's someone's nephew in the biz. He's awkward and unfunny.
I like Leno better than Conan and Letterment, although I like Ferguson more. I just don't find Conan funny, but they really are hanging him out to dry. Poorly handled NBC, poorly handled.
I can see Jimmy Fallon hiding under a cardboard box in the NBC basement until this all blows over.
Next to Ferguson, Conan is the only late nite talk show worth watching. Leno is the epitome of tired and played-out. Fallon is unwatchable, just horrible. Letterman and Kimmel on the other nets are just as bad. Conan is the only thing NBC has, but you can be sure they'll fuck it up.

The fact that Jay Leno is a multi-millionaire with this much power at NBC boggles my mind. He hasn't been funny since the Carter Administration, (and only then for about 5 minutes). His "humor" is LCD. Lowest Common Denominator-period.
NBC's promotion of Leno's new time slot during Monday Night Football with Bob Costas was absolutely cringe-worthy.
Not that I watch any of these "late-night" guys. I prefer to pass out to "Yard Crashers" myself.

Ha! They could never get away with saying that kind of shit today. At the time of the announcement most people said filling the 10 PM slot with a talk show 5 days a week was going to be a fiasco. NBC didn't invest in developing shows, choosing to buy them from other companies instead, and when the economy crashed they needed a cheap filler like Leno. Keeping him costs a lot less than paying for, at minimum, 5 new shows. GE probably off-loaded their networks to Comcast because they didn't want to take on the costs of getting NBC back in the game during prime time.

Anyway, I love Conan. We used to watch Letterman, after my beloved Stephen Colbert, then Conan. Now we watch Letterman after Colbert and either Craig Ferguson, who is so fucking hot, or Jimmy Fallon, who can be funny on occasion. My soft spot for Conan comes from his work on the Simpsons. He is so freaky, I love him.
I stay up way too late and work in the morning. No wonder I am always tired.

well who the fuck couldn't see this coming? oh yeah, NBC programmers. Conan's edgier humor DOES NOT work at the earlier time slot. never will. Leno may not be everyone's cuppa tea, but he's safer and more Carson-esque than Conan could ever hope to be. I don't like either, but each have skits or segments that can be funny and hands down, Leno is a much better interviewer. Conan needs to take his old slot back and get over it. remember, NBC was FORCING Leno to "retire" when they gave Conan his time slot - he didn't do it because he was tired of it. and yes, Letterman is sitting in his office getting a blowjob from an intern and laughing his fool ass off.
