The Leader of Cornell's Pi Phi Sorority Does Not Eff Around
Everything I know about sororities I learned from watching Confessions of a Sorority Girl starring Jamie Luner, so I really have no idea what one wears to rush. Well, thanks to Fashionista I now know that satin, titty cleavage, fuck me pumps and chapped lips are a BIG NO. Fun haters.
Fashionista posted a 6-page long dress code from Cornell University's Pi Phi Sorority for rush. If the leader of the Pi Phi sees a single hair on your upper lip or a plastic bracelet on your wrist, she will hit you in the mouth with her Tory Burch flat. Bitch is serious about her accessories.
Below is the crazy ass dress code with equally crazy comments. Just for the record, Dlisted also has a dress code. Whatever is on the NO list below is on Dlisted's FUCK YES list.

Hey peeps, just came from Fashionista who originally posted this. Melissa the Chapter President didn't write this. It was the (former) recruitment chair Mariana Diez. She either stepped down or was asked to step down over this. So Melissa isn't lying when she says it wasn't her quote.
Im from england and so don't understand the sorority thing- I find it bizarre that grown women allow their friends to tell them how to dress but thats just my opinion.
What I do know though, is via a link some thoughtful person has pasted below, that all these girls are wearing the most disgusting dresses EVER!!!! Anybody who allows themselves to be photographed in pink and purple chiffon (other than a bridesmaid) is in no position to give fashion advice.
The author of this lulztrosity is Mariana "Mimi" Diez, not the Michelle person referenced earlier.
This story is a few days old and she's already deleted her Twitter acct., but Google cache still has the first page for your entertainment:
http://74.125.155.132/search?q=cache:twitter.com/Mimi_Diez
Definitely does not sound like the type of person who should be instructing others on how NOT to be trashy!
I like to fuck girls like this in the ass, really hard.
I totally agree with biatchyagain-
As pompous as she may sound, whoever made this list knows what she is talking about(when it comes to dressiness and that shiz). And as someone who has to attend a lot of social functions but has NO sense of fashion in regards to type of function, this list is awesome!
I am always dressed inappropriately (and I don't mean slutty, I am just always either over or under dressed). I was worrying about what to wear to an upcoming Saturday night engagement party (would it be more or less formal than the Wednesday engagement party I recently attended where a lot of people were in their work attire?).
I would never in a million years want to be her friend, let alone join her dumbass club, but I will be using her tips...not gonna lie.
Am I an asshole because I bookmarked this list? Yes, the girl goes to Cornell, so she should learn how to spell (or at least understand what the fuck "aka" means). But seriously, this is a great thing to have. It is so simple and easy to follow. I am clueless when it comes to shopping for clothes. My entire wardrobe is black shirts, blue jeans and sneakers. I hope this chick comes up with a yearly list or even a fashion advice blog. Thank you sorority ho, THANK YOU!
And btw, I am not skinny yet the part about not wearing certain things if you're too fat didn't offend me. Why the hell would anyone want to have a muffing top or let their flabby arms hang out? I understand being nice, but it is better be honest. Some things look better on skinny people and not so good on my fat ass lol ;p
This girl is a giant bitch. And I kind of love her for it. Just saying.
This has touched a nerve with me. I went to a small, expensive(ish), private university on scholarship. I was thin, pretty, all of that but I never rushed because I was afraid of stuff like this. I was poor and scared. If anyone really needed a cheat sheet like that, I'm sure it was me.
10 years later I've got the hang of how-not-to-look-trashy. I'm also decently successful in life (I certainly blew my background to smithereens). But I think about what I missed out on with the sorority thing - maybe I could have developed more as a person and made more friends in college.
As it was, I just ended up with a degree and one close friend. I'm pretty sad about it, actually. This Cornell girl is the type of person who ruined it for girls like me. Sucks.
This girl needs something that's just adorable, like a fat dick in her mouth. I'm just saying people.
Don't judge me
@ Vitamin F
People Mag? You seriously did not just compared this blog to that shitty magazine
I been here on Dlisted since this blog was still a log and not a domain
Trust me it was wayyy more different then it is now ..back in the day it was refreshin bitched out blog that me and my ex coworkers would check all the time and talk about later
It was kinda undeground before they started talking about it in newspapers and other sites
I am not calling Michael a sell out but whole demographic of this site change and all the new people who been here past 2 or whatever years are talking about other things that before that people never talked about
Yeah sure he has domain bills and overall LIFE outside this so he is trying to keep that demographic in constant joy of whatever shit about cats etc people like and feed it
But its not same... I still love this site and visit it all the fkn time though outta the day but its turning me off more and more those days esp after all this useless cat posts and animal stories and just basic white trash shit going on here
This kinda reminds me of Pink blog and Perez before they became sell outs and their stories and perspectives changed
But I am not calling Michael sell out ofcourse..Im just stating that his shit changed over the course of past two years ...ever since spaghetti cat crap and whatnot
Point is...Dlisted is not same it used to be in my opinion
Has nothing to do with judging or this particular story
Just in a sense its not same site anymore...

Wow, parkerj, I guess my sarcasm didn't translate through there. My jab was at the smug comments prior about this girl's email and her responses to what people sent. But whatevs, you're all horrid horrid people Dlisted, the single source of all internet woes and I judge you all for it.
...I was raised right, I talk about people behind their backs. It's called manners...
i read through this list and expected worse.
alot of the stuff on the list is really to keep these young college girls in check so they get the hang and start of looking nice and not trashy. to someone in her 30s with a job, it seemed like the basic boring rules of how not to look trashy... before the kegger and dooshbag fratboys get brought in.
she needs a spell check.

Upon review of the chapter's website, Melissa is absolutely correct when she says that it's not her quote. The president is not the one who writes the manual for rush (this is an excerpt from it). Way to harass the wrong girl Dlisters.
_____________
Get over it. No one takes this seriously. I doubt all of Dlisted are emailing this chick. I know I couldn't care less.
This stuff was leaked on the Internet, if people didnt' find it through Dlisted, they would have come across it on some other blog and she's gonna be harrassed by anyone who gets a kick out of it.
As many people have stated before, this list is nothing special. I too must admit to a past sorority life, as well as being the rush chair and this looks similar to the manual I had to put together as part of my position (except for the part about having nice arms or being a certain weight, that I'll admit is probably a product of her personal bitchiness). It's written in a very casual format because it's not meant to be mass distributed, but only to be read by the people in her chapter who understand the nuances of her speaking/writing styles. But as much as you want to believe that women enrolled in college will understand "everyone wear a nice, black cocktail dress" you still have someone show up in jeans, broken flip flops and a t-shirt. It's not about looking the best, it's more about looking uniform when you're presenting yourself as a group to people. You want to remove anything extremely distracting so that you can actually get to the point of trying to get to know the rushees that you're talking to in a very short period of time. What I'm getting at is that it's one time per year that a rush chair can ask you to dress a certain way and look your best, and if you've ever dressed up to go to a work function, a holiday party or even a job interview you've done the equivalent.
If you didn't like sororities, well then you didn't support one by joining and life went on, right? People shouldn't be personally emailing this girl who had something she didn't mean for the public to see taken out of context and turned to make her the spokesperson for sorority bitchiness. If you feel that strongly about it, then write, "Melissa is a stoooooopid hoebag" on a bathroom stall, it would be more appropriate to the level you're stooping to. Aren't we grown and don't you have lives?

@Flatbush Hooker
Why are you being judgmental here? This is Dlisted, not people magazine. Here you can have unlimited, useless, dirty fun, without hurting anyone or breaking the rules. So whats the problem?
Its not about posts being useful, its about how funny MK makes them to be. BTW, I love animal stories that MK puts on the blog and I am sure most of the readers do.
This blog is not turning into anything, it was always like that. MK posts what the fuck he wants and we LOVE it.
Wow. They look just like I thought they would. (Not a compliment)

She spelled a lot of things wrong. If she's going to be telling people how to look and act, she better be pretty damn perfect herself, and that includes spelling.
This list is nothing special and people who bitchin about it like someone said should print and follow
Am I the only one noticing the pattern of how every post is towards useless shit like that?
Cats riding trains, dogs staring at cupcakes, some ugly tee being whatever and this
Am I supposed to be offended at this blog turning into What would People of Wall Mart do?

It's one thing to hate on sorority rush and think it's shallow (because of course it is), but if you believe that this girl deserves hate mail then you are most likely someone who would benefit from printing out this list and hanging it next to your mirror. Just sayin.
Ughh why are people freaking out about this? EVERY sorority does this. Trust. Even the ugly ones. I was in a sorority (shut up) and I was rush chair (shame) and like this girl, all of our "rules" were aimed at getting girls to not dress like they are ready to tear the damn club up. People get soooooooo offended that some people would have the AUDACITY to say that women are more likable to other women on a short, first impression if they wear a little make-up, some nice flattering and appropriate clothing, and tame their caterpillar brows. This is not only true in sorority world, but in LIFE. Seriously. Like I said, every house does it. So if this one didn't then the sorority they compete with would get all the cutest and most involved girls (because someone has to plan the parties we cute girls attend, after all)and that would signify the END OF THE WORLD. Think of all the hoops sports teams jump through to recruit athletes. It's just like that. But gayer. And stupider. And more embarrassing to admit when you are a grown up. But honestly the best time ever.

Miss your fucked up ways on my fucked up days.
Bitch is stupid. The girls they want, are the ones who already have most of these rules down pat. These are all girls from the same socioeconomic circle who don't want to mingle with girls from lesser than families.
And girls who aren't from this class but want to be included, already have studied and internalized all the social codes regardless.

Ahhaha Noelegy,
My thought exactly. I assume this loser's major is Future Frigid Soccer Mom.
I love how "BLUSH IS NOT AN OPTION", and lip gloss is encouraged. Bunch of tarts. I can't even imagine how much Abercrombie, Victoria Secret Pink, and cheap perfume is saturating this pack of tacky girls.

You know, I don't have a problem with ANY of this girl's opinions on fashion. In fact, I agree with most of them (especially her position on satin). My problem is that she has listed these OPINIONS as rules and thinks she's going to enforce them! What an idiot!
Those of you screaming about conformist sorority chicks are only partly right. A sense of belonging to a group is definitely a big part of the draw, but it's nearly impossible to impose your will on adolescent women like this. It's just foolish. These young women are not necessarily "sheep." I promise that solidly 70% of the chapter's members have been actively disobeying several or all of the "rules" this very rush season. Just for spite. Also, one of those "sheep" made this list public, don't forget.
And what exactly is this Rush Chair planning to do if someone shows up for house tours wearing cropped pants? Send her home? I don't think so. From the looks of it, this chapter can't afford to lose a body for their rush party. Clearly, there aren't that many girls in Ithaca that would "die to hang with" these Pi Phis. Sad.
I was in a Sorority. It was the time of my life. FUN, FUN, FUN, and good friends, common purpose, philanthropy, a MUCH nicer life than the nasty dorms, and beer for breakfast. Can't say a thing against it. 20 years later the girls I was close with then are still among my best friends. I went to a BIG school and being in a sorority made it smaller, which was nice.
That is all.
It would be quicker if they just said 'no poor people or Paris Hilton'.
Some of the things I could see the sense of (once I got past the terrible spelling), but some things were just a little too...controlled. Bet I know just what kind of soccer mom bitch from hell this girl becomes in about fifteen years.

though hubby is American, I'm from Indonesia so I don't really know what's important about sorority..soo...what's actually the good thing about joining a sorority? the dress code is nothing special to me but it is kinda creepy that everyone have to wear the same things and the way she wrote "I like, I love, etc" kinda make me think that this kunt thinks the world involves around her.
I thought college is about learning to live a hobo life when you cant beg more money from parents, studying, socializing, guiding you to reach your full potential or some sheet like that and not dressing the same dress like some fukin robots, joining a club that can actually tell you who's to befriend with and who's not?
I was not in the popular girls side when I was in college. I was a chief editor of the college mag and people called me "The Nerd One" but I am sure my brain wasn't and isn't in my boobies.
Seriously, for me the definition of cool is not joining a popular girl club. get into the dean's list, live your life to the fullest, that's cool. why waste it with faking friendships with beeyotches who will stab you in the back or stuffs?

These chicks wanted to join a special little club, they can follow the dress code. It's a little snotty, but so what? No one is forcing them to do anything. It's probably better than what they'd choose on their own, anyways. Dumbasses.
