Charlie Sheen's Wife Might Be In Rehab
One month after her (alleged) coke-fueled fight with Charlie Sheen, Brooke Mueller has checked into a rehab facility in North Carolina to dry up and fix her life. Entertainment Tonight is saying that Brooke and her mother arrived in North Carolina yesterday.
Last week, Brooke was hospitalized in Los Angeles for pneumonia. Sources tell TMZ that Brooke does have pneumonia, but her addiction to the bad shit fucked with her immune system making it hard for her to kick the infection. A different source (ALL THESE SOURCES) tells People that Brooke still has fluid her lungs, and the doctors told her to get some rest if she wants to get better.
And just when I was about to hit publish on this bitch, I read that Brooke's lawyer is swearing on her favorite cook spoon that she is not in rehab. He said that Brooke is in North Carolina, but is at a convalescent facility to recuperate from her pneumonia. He made it crystal meth clear that she is not in rehab.
Why is this lawyer shoving baking soda in our nostrils and telling us it's cocaine? Who in the hell would go all the way from California to North Carolina to recuperate from pneumonia. Something in the pipe ain't smoky (just pretend that made sense). Unless, Charlie Sheen sent Brooke all the way to North Carolina so he can throw a prostitution whore party without her finding out.

I'm guessing that the "pneumonia" was in reality a suicide attempt, and that the trip to North Carolina is to a psychiatric hospital that specializes in addicts who try to kill themselves. Great way to enable her with a bunch of lies. Poor kids, they don't really have much of a chance.

Just cuz Denise isn't on drugs doesn't mean squat....she's obviously a narcissist w/complete disregard for her kids. Who runs to Oprah first chance they get over another woman's misfortune? She didn't even express any sympathy for Brooke, yet she complains over Sheen's behavior, even though he had abused several women before HER.
That kind of ruthless, selfish desperation just reeks of mental instability, who knows what goes on behind closed doors? And what makes you think her dad's so great? He raised Denise, didn't he?
And even if Brooke's a crackhead, it's no excuse for Sheen to hold her hostage and threaten her life. There are other ways to deal.

speaking of AA, i like in akron, ohio (don't judge!) the 'home' of AA and there's the headquarters a few blocks from me and a huge ass 'today club' where all these peoples hang out smoking, drinking coffee in between meetings.....
i think AA is just trading one addiction for another....be it the constant coffee they have around or just an addiction to meetings!

Momus, not all pneumonia is contagious. Brooke probably had bacterial pneumonia which isn't passed from person to person. Viral pneumonia is though but it's less common and often acquired while in the hospital for something else. Addicts typically get the bacterial kind from a chest cold, which allows a secondary bacterial infection to flourish or from ignoring bronchitis which is also bacterial but not contagious. Generally it is viruses that plane travelers need to be cautious of.

Your right about the alcohol Snowy but the same is also true of the benzos....Valium, Xanax, etc. Same type of withdrawals as alcohol & just as dangerous. It probably surprises most people that as nasty as opiate withdrawal can be, nobody dies from it. They just wish they would while it's going on.

I read something recently that is similar to your statement and it made me take pause. On one hand, I have a close family member who likely wouldn't be alive today and close to celebrating 3 years sobriety if it wasn't for AA and the 12-step based rehab she went to. On the other hand, I know that more people "spontaneously recover"...IOW, get sick and tired of being sick and tired and just give it up on their own...than acheive long term sobriety the 12-step way. Substance abuse treatment and recovery is a multi-billion dollar industry and not all programs are non-profit. There are ulterior motives present anytime profit is a goal. The real problem, at least here in the US, is that there are very few choices in recovery methods and the mandated one is always a 12-step based method. If you get arrested and take the option of treatment versus jail, assuming it is offered, you are forced to go to meetings. The success rate of AA and the other 12-step groups is less than 7% and that number is likely inflated since it is self-reported from those groups...groups that are comprised of alcoholics and addicts that treat other alcoholics and addicts which means that honesty can be sketchy at best. People will say they are sober when they are not and AA doesn't require proof of sobriety, just the desire to be sober. I could go on and on about this but I won't. Recovery shouldn't be a one program fits all kind of thing but for some reason other methods get no publicity or use here in the USA. In the rest of the world, things are somewhat different. If you are interested, google The Orange Papers. It is long but interesting.
Oh ya, and about Brooke, I said it from the first annoucement that she was in the hospital a week or so ago that her infection was because of her coke addiction. Pneumonia and other upper respitory infections are somewhat common in addicts who snort drugs. Lots of shit ends up in the lungs and the fact that they are systemically unhealthy because of their addiction means it is really hard to recover from an infection. I wish her the best and hope that she finds good health and sobriety, whatever way she goes about it. She has 2 kids that need a healthy mother.

I've been doing a 20 year study on the addictiveness of alcohol and nicotine... preliminary findings indicate a dead tie at 50%... obviously, more time is needed to make the results conclusive. I will let you know as more information becomes available.
