Let me just say that I wish all people had that same thought process as you do. My only point is that I really believe that it's harder to keep it in check when many of them don't live a life of reality, the way most people do. Many of them live a fantasy life and probably eventually buy into the whole hype that they are special and need special treatment. I don't think that many of them live by the rules that we do. Mostly because they don't have to........ Again, I'm not saying all are that way, but I do believe that many more don't live in "our reality" than do.

My husband is an average Joe, and he tells me all the time about women coming up to him in the grocery store, at the bank, at the gym...telling him literally to give them a call if his wife [me] ever leaves him. I haven't called the Cheaters detectives on him yet so I don't know for sure that he hasn't taken any of them up on it. LOL. For now, I have to trust that he respects me and our family enough to keep it in his pants. Because you know, cheating sucks. And banging stupid horz who delude themselves into thinking the man will leave his wife for them and somehow not put them through the same mess he put his current wife through just really isn't worth it.

But again, it's not the banging of a hor here or there that's the concern. I bet, if folks were honest, many married people can get past one, maybe two, infidelities, especially if the cheater were truly sorry...maybe folks were going through a rough patch and things happened. Whatever.

It's the sheer impugnity with which he swung his dick around that would disgust me to my core if I were his wife. OK he gave a tiny, little fuck about his marriage...he did ask the one hor to take her name off her phone because he didn't want his wife to find out. Whatever.

Don't get me wrong, I think it sucks to have that done to you by your hubby, especialy in such epic proportions but I think that many more celebs do it than we know about. And would you really be that shocked if Barkley got caught with his hand in the cookie jar? Maybe I've grown a little calloused but I doubt I would be that surprised. I actually think that the more someone pimps themselves as the goody goody, the freakier they are. Look at Frank Gifford, the perverbial "Family Man", got it from a stewardess for christ sake, a squealer at that. I just think temptation is greater when you're rich and famous and there's more people to try to take you down, wheter it's for bribe money to stay silent or the fame/noteriety. What about Clinton? I think, more than anything, that we the public, WANT to believe that they are such admirable people. We WANT to buy into that role and put them on a pedestal. Could you guarantee that if your hubby became famous and hugely rich over night that he would be able to resist every beautiful person that offered him a hot night if he really believed you would never find out? And what if he was offered those nights on a constant basis, how long do you think he could say no? What if he was gone alot for his job and you were arguing alot because of the absense? I just think they are offered sexy times so much more than the average Joe, that it would be very hard to put ourselves in their shoes if it's even possible at all. Not condoning just stating this for argument's sake...... I think it's alot tougher than we may even know....

He promised to pick up the tab on their dinner and drinks, and was giving them all the big hairy eyeball. They accepted (although being normal, educated non-ho-bag women none of them fell for his snow job) and moved to another table.

Well, lo and behold, who did Tiger bring to that special oceanside table? Several totally cheesy hos and some other guys, and they had quite the party. So yeah - my niece knew about him long before any of the press (or his wife, I guess) did. Heh.

Pimpcessa, even Michael Jordan, arguably the best athlete of all time, never made it past the $1 billion mark, even with endorsements.

I don't believe it's a secret that endorsements are given to athletes 1) because of their talent and 2) because of their image. the "cleaner" and "more likeable" the athlete, the more endorsements, especially from established companies like Buick, etc.

Think about it. Those athletes that have large and lucrative endorsement deals...how many of them are "bad boys"? Aren't they the "good guys"? The community activists? Either that or they're like Barkley and they are funny and charming...Tiger's no Barkley.

The number of whores shocked me too but what really got me were those messed up horny texts, and hearing that he didn't use condoms, and hearing that the heauz were in love with him, and hearing about all the machinations he did to keep his wife from knowing, and worst...him telling the heauz that he regretted being married. I'm not saying it wasn't a shock hearing about his infidelities, but I was more shocked about the number of lovers than the fact that he cheated. I personally think it's unrealistic to think that many athletes and celebs don't cheat, not that I agree with it, because when you're that famous and/or rich you have tons of people that want to be with you on some level. And I assume it's many more than you or I deal with on a daily basis. I just think it's not that easy when you constantly have gorgeous people throwing themselves at you to always take the higher ground. I'm not saying impossible at all, but I don't think it's always that easy either.

I disagree. He got those endorsment deals because he's an awesome golfer who had just never been busted for doing anything wrong. Doesn't mean he pushed some squeaky clean image down our throats. He just always kept out of trouble for the most part. I'm not saying that the public didn't have that impression of him, but I don't see him pushing it at us. If your argument was correct, we would have nuns being paid all the money for endorsements not athletes. We all know that pro athletes have egos and women chase after them. He just got caught.

He didn't become famous for being a good, loyal husband, and I don't believe he ever actively presented himself as a role model. The media made him out to be so, and he merely went along.
