McCain is too a progressive and would not have been for small government. Palin believes the people should have more control of their own lives than what pelosi and party want to give. She seems to understand more what the tea party movement is about, BUT she is going to still campaign for Rick Perry and McCain even though neither are very conservative. She states that she gave them her word and wants to keep it.
The tea party movement needs to be careful and not get hijacked by RINOs. It welcomes all parties just as long as you believe in small government.

My 2 cents. I think discussing politics (like religion) is a rather futile endeavor. I have my beliefs and nothing that the other side has to say will change my mind. Likewise, nothing I have to say (even if I am right and make sense) will change those with conflicting opinions.
For the record, my opinion is Palin is stoopid, Bush and the evil Cheney nearly destroyed this country, Obama is trying to clean-up their mess, I personally think Hilary would have made a better president (does that make me racist, or those who disagree sexist??).
