Suri Cruise better hold an emergency meeting with her styling team today, because Vadge's daughter Mercy is coming for her title. On Saturday morning, Mercy showed up to the Kabbalahwallahballah Center in an outfit that costs more than my soul. Although, that's not saying much since I'd sell my soul right now for a half-eaten Rooty Tooty Fresh N Fruity from IHOP.
Maybe Mercy can help her own mother out with the styling thing, because Vadge showed up looking like your grandma going to a Jersey Shore costume party dressed as Jon Gosselin (your grandma gets all those reality bitches confused).

There are more than enough adult celebrities to snark on. We don't need to disparage the children. Some day they will be old enough to read these comments but won't yet have the confidence and wisdom of an adult to not take it to heart. I always imagine these kids reading these soul-crushing insults about their looks when they are going through puberty or just before. 99% of adolescents have insecurities about their looks as it is, even the gorgeous ones, and to make things even harder on them just makes me very sad. I will not participate in that.

I hope you do find a child to adopt and love. I know a woman who feels the same way as you. She was (as far as she knew) fertile but couldn't justify bringing another child into our crowded world when there are bazillions that are already here and need a parent. Nobody should EVER have an opinion on another woman's fertility/childbearing choices except her partner of course. Not being married shouldn't mean a thing if you can provide a stable, healthy home. In Mexico I guess things are more old-fashioned when it comes to "family values" than the US. I lived in Mexico for a couple years, many years ago, and I remember that a lot of "stuff" was antiquated, especially in regards to how to define a family unit.
It slays me that there are so many babies and kids that need a loving parent badly and that it requires jumping through hoops for years on end to adopt one. I realize that there are laws in place to protect the adoptee from evil prospective parents but they could cut down on some of the red-tape. I know people who went to Russia and China to adopt and in both cases they had to park their asses in the country they were adopting from for 2 months straight, waiting for paperwork to be finished and handed into the court. A ton of waiting for what amounted to one days worth of interviews, paperwork and court time. Ludicrous I tell ya! It's all so that each agency and department can take their cut and get a fee...lawyers, courts and gov't. They've lost sight of the orphaned child in their quest to make everything perfectly legit.

dunno what the comments where all about , but regarding adoption uuuuuuuugh is soooooooooo hard , lemme explain , peaches wants behbeh peaches , but adopted behbeh peaches , apparently i need to wait like in some countries 4 more years to be ellegible , here in mexico i can adopt as a single parent but i will be at the end of the list meaning i will have to wait like 10 years or so , some married catholic couples (religion is an issue in some private agencies )wait up to 4 years , i mean is really frustrating cuz i know i can have biological kids , but i refuse , is something very personal , but my gut tells me adoption is the right path for me , i want to be a mother , but i understand how some couples get really desperate and frustrated , i am starting the process and maybe i will try brazil , so many kids in need and i am treated as the last possible option just because i don't want to marry (i have a partner, but i don't believe in marriage )last case scenario i make it legal just for the sake of it but is ridiculous i am healthy , i am good financially , i am a stable person , i own mah place ( no mortgage ) and here i feel so discouraged by everybody , always why won't you have your own ?????, why do you wanna adopt????, jeeeeeez this includes the damn adoption agencies ,yep even they ....anyways i feel optimistic .

OMG, you are so fucking right! I did not express that in my post, but as usual, you have brought clarity to the situation.
That age issue with US adoptions makes me sick. The age limit is so low, and meanwhile, most US couples who want to adopt have had fertility problems and are middle-aged, but hardly geezers and they usually have a decent amount of cash.
I love the way that dirt poor trash can have baby after baby and collect welfare with no limits or scrutiny put on their behaviour, not to mention no checking on how these welfare babies are being raised, and middle-class older people who are desperate to give a child a good home get turned down all the time.
However, I will say that that does not apply to celebs, just regular people, celebs can get any baby they wanted anywhere in the world, so I still think celebs should adopt from the US. It's a personal decision, and I don't expect all to, but it annoys me that almost NONE do. Honestly, I cannot think of one celeb with an adopted child who got it in the US, but I know that they are out there, I just cannot think of any right now.

I admit I didn't take that into consideration, but my feeling is that celebs can buy their way into anything...they always say that they want to "highlight" other countries by adopting, but the fact of the matter is that there are so many babies here in the US that need a home.
The problem with US adoptions is that most couples who want to adopt in the US want a white baby, which is why they go to other countries. Almost all babies available for adoption in the US are black. Some are Latino. The percentage of white babies available for adoption is miniscule.
If these babies are not adopted they go into the foster care system which is completely abominable.
Sadly, I know these statistics because many of my friends have researched adoption because we are older and they have had trouble with fertility. They want a white baby and that's that, and I suppose that probably says more about my friends than about the US adoption system in general.

I hear ya. I think with celebs it's a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation. They are going to be scrutinized far more than the average Joe about where and why they adopted. Still, it makes me wonder.
I knew a couple who were DESPERATE to adopt...It didn't matter age, race, etc. They were even foster parents and considered adopting a teenager who was CLEARLY a psychopath. Well, when he stole his 'Dad's' rig ('Dad" was a truck driver) and headed to Reno, that was the last straw (after he got arrested for chipping golf balls onto an interstate highway and nearly causing grave injury).
The only reason why they were SO hesitant to give this couple a baby of ANY race was because he was in his 40's and she was in her 50's. Anyway, it turned out they got a BEAUTIFUL U.S. adopted Hispanic baby boy and they ADORE him...They've had him for many, many years now. This couple went throgh a couple of heartaches to get to be parents before they were able to adopt their son. I can totally understand wanting to bypass that, but even overseas adoptions are sometimes met with heartache...for the average Joe and Jane...

I've read this entire thread with all of the disagreements, etc. and I guess all I have to say is I do believe 100% that celebs will only adopt a cute baby but the real thing that pisses me off is that they MUST adopt from other countries when there are millions of unwanted babies right here in the good ole US of A.

I didn't think it was racist either and I'm always up for a good discussion. Clearly Rotten's post was tongue-in-cheek. The other poster was probably thinking too much about it and, taking it rather literally, made a jump to oh, the racist commodification of people and culture by the West. Race aside, it's just sad. I know someone who, when young, overheard an aunt saying it was a pity she (the child) wasn't pretty. Never got over it and now, nearing 50, she still hasn't made peace with her face and self-image. Sure, this woman isn't a supermodel but she's certainly no less attractive than anyone else -- she blends with everyone else you pass on the street unless you know her personally or perhaps love her. Big deal. Mercy looks absolutely fine, even better because she's clean and smiling. She'll do well... and if she gets rid of that jacket she'll blend with everyone else.
