He's an American actor who's been way famous everywhere BUT the US for 4 or 5 years.
Folks here will know him soon enough--he's going to be a regular on Desperate Housewives next season, and he's going to star in a USA remake of Torchwood "coming soon".
I watched Torchwood season 3 first before the other two and if you want a sifi that is going to rip your heart out, I suggest that one. The other two seasons are silly and campy (a glove that brings people back to life? really?) but the last one is heartbreaking.
