Katherine Heigl Is Over This Shit
Katherine Hagel was supposed to return to work on Grey's Anatomy this past Monday after a 3-month maternity leave....buuuuuuut she didn't. This explains the deafening cheers that were heard throughout the Los Angeles area on Monday morning.
Michael Ausiello over at EW says that Hagel didn't show up because executive producer Shonda Rhimes has finally agreed to let her out of her contract. Hagel and her minions are currently working on an exit agreement with ABC. Hagel isn't expected to return to set and her final episode has already come and gone.
Hagel has made it clear that she would rather smile a friendly smile than continue working on Grey's, so it was nice of Shonda to unlock her handcuffs and release her back into the wild. Personally, I was hoping that Shonda tortured Hagel some more by making Izzie get Quasimodo's face transplanted onto hers after getting mauled by a fat dog. But Shonda is a better person than I.
And don't put the booze bottle down yet, because although Hagel's face won't be seen on the small screen anymore, it will be seen more on the BIG SCREEN. Yeah, you're going to need a bigger bottle.

She's going to be in the role of Stephanie Plum (in the Janet Evanovich series). All the fans of the books wanted Sandra Bullock as she was rumored to be the the star. This gives me the sads....she better not fuck up the role. :P

They've been bouncing over the shark for a couple years now, but it's funny how she thinks she can do much better.

I've never liked nor watched Grey's and most of the cast annoys me. Even my friends who were obsessed with the show say that it's going downhill and likely won't last more than a few more seasons. Heigl is making the right decision. I think she's a bad actress but she works well in stupid romantic comedies. I saw 16 dresses and it was mediocre but something fun to watch when I was bored. I'm sure she'll keep doing that for as long as she can to keep the cash coming in.
Just gonna throw this in there:
David Caruso: NYPD Blue + a gazillion years in acting purgatory = CSI Miami. He got lucky.
Shelly Long: Cheers + actor's purgatory (Troop Beverly Hills?) = no career in years.
Hagel: My Father The Hero + Grey's Anatomy + some Rom/Com = ? (finish this equation )

P.S. For anyone who cares, I was talking to a crew member recently who works on Grey's and Private Practice. He said the Grey's set is miserable, they are all at each other's throats. He said the trouble starts at the top, that Shonda Rhimes is a miserable and angry person. He did say the actress who plays Dr. Bailey is cool, though.
Trust me, I'm no fan of Heigl's but bitch is better off Grey's. That show has jumped the frickin "shark" as they call it. I haven't watched it in about a year since the Isiah Washington got the boot. If I were to watch in it now...no change..Meredith is still whiney and annoying. Chang is still a cut throat bitch. etc..
She still has at least 4/5 years before her face falls apart from the smoking to still do Rom/Coms.

That's why civilized people use DVR or Tivo. For $5 a month we watch what we want, when we want, and skip through the commercials.
They deserve some compensation because all of the other actors (plus all the people who work behind the scenes) on the show are going to be the ones hurt when the ratings drop because her actual fans (she does have them unfortunately) stop watching them.
This trick is a dumbass. I couldn't believe it when she turned down the Emmy nomination because of "poor writing." (If I remember correctly) If it was really such poor writing, you'd think she would've gotten a major ego boost from the fact that they were complementing her acting despite (what was in her opinion) the crap material she had to work with.

I used to be a huge Grey's Anatomy fan and watched it up to this last season. The show's been going down the drain so her timing is perfect.
