In the interest of historical accuracy, the Iron Cross was not a Nazi symbol. It was introduced into the Prussian Army in 1813 and adopted by the German Army long, long before the Nazis even existed. It was a German military symbol, not a Nazi symbol.

As for making excuses for Jesse James. I'm far from doing that. I think he's a disgusting, lying cheat and an asshole of epic proportions. However, (and maybe it's because I'm employed in the legal field) I think you need more evidence than one single joking photo and a bunch of unsubstantiated rumors about someone before you can declare them to be a Nazi or White Supremacist. We keep hearing all these rumors, but so far all that has been shown is ONE photo. If he really was what people are suggesting, I think there would be ample proof coming out of the woodwork. And either way, it's a whole other ballgame trying to suggest that Sandra Bullock is tainted in some way. No one has even proved Jesse James is anything but a jerk, so how can people speculate about what she knew or suggest she condoned the behavior he's being accused of when it isn't even substantiated? I think it's because no one wants to think that they might be racist to some degree or another, too. They may identify with JJ, they may identify with SB, but they don't want to look in the mirror too hard and see themselves there.

This has reinforced my belief that you never, ever, ever date or marry a celeb. If they tire of you, they will smear you to make the break and come out smelling decent while you get all the dirt.

It's consistent and the press treats fame as something that confirms innocence, not morals, not talent, fame.

For example, when Grace Kelly was sleeping with half the industry, when she was an up and comer she was sneered at and considered a predator who preyed on men, married or single. But after becoming a success, she established her image as virginal and innocent and classy, and decent. When she dated Oleg Cassini, he was demonized and the press speculated on how 'classy' Grace Kelly saw in 'such a man' as Oleg Cassini.

Sandra is now an Oscar winner and that elevates her to saint status while Jesse is being demonized since he isn't as fmaous or part of the Hollywood scene. It's an obvious pattern. It's obvious that Jesse isn't part of that scene and lets not fool ourselves with Sandra's goofball persona. She did the same dirty things that all actresses do to make it in Hollywood.

Until I see solid proof that he's an active Nazi, I'm going to withold judgement. If it was a goof/fetish thing, it's no one's business. He shouldn't be demonzed because she wants out of the marriage.

I feel bad for Sandra but Im sure she had to know a few of his quirks, I truly dont believe she was in the dark about anything he's done or has done in the past. I just think she fell in love with him and was going to be able to look past all that past shit and move on with life and he would be a changed man.

True, Whoopi was his girlfriend at the time. But even still, there was a huge outcry over his being in blackface.

People do all sorts of offensive shit they think is funny but does that really mean that they are racist or Nazi too?

Currently, it's a crime to symbolize Nazi signs or represent yourself as a Nazi in some countries. For instance in Germany they can fine you or in an extreme case throw you in jail.
