TBS?!!!?
You won't find Conan O'Brien nuzzling against Rupert Murdoch's titties anytime soon, because he's taking his act to TBS instead of Fox. Starting this Fall, Conan will host a one-hour show at 11pm on TBS. Conan's show will bump George Lopez to midnight. Hm. This shit seems familiar. Deja chin!
George Lopez had this to say about being bumped by the ginge: "I can’t think of anything better than doing my show with Conan as my lead-in. It's the beginning of a new era in late-night comedy."
Okay, I'm glad George is fine with this, because I really don't want to get dozens of invitations to the "I'm With Lolo" Facebook group. Not ever.

I like George Lopez but maybe just cause im Mexican..if i wasnt probably not as much...his jokes are primarily the Mexcian/American experience...for me he is pretty much the first comedian to successfully(there was only Paul Rodriguez before him)to address our culture, its quirks, its awesomeness and its strangeness of mixing our parents culture(Mexico)and our place of birth(U.S) and instead of us feeling like outsiders because of this he came out and made it funny...when he's talking about how we do things and why in my youth i thought it was sad and hella ghetto and im sure it still is but he makes us laugh at it and lets us know it wasnt just my family it was pretty much most Mexican/American families that went through it too...anyway maybe now with Conan on he can get better guests i pretty much only watch his opening monologues anyway buts its pretty much what i did with most late night shows...also cause i work so late i watched the reshowing at 2am so hopefully it will be Conan first then George since i have the insomnia real bad anyway...and my Dlisted catching up time as well....
I never really cared much for Gonad O'Brien. Although that damn dog puppet - I forget his name - you know, the rotweiler with the cigar - always cracked me up with his on-the-spot celeb interviews, of which he would usually humiliate and/or berate them - AWESOME. Very funny indeed!

I love Conan. I am so happy he has a new TV show. Network TV is on the way down and basic cable is on the rise...he will be just fine. I just wish he'd come back to NYC but it seems he's staying in L.A. *sigh* Oh, well, at least I'll see him at Radio City Music Hall in June.

So Ted Turner's paying him more than Murdoch. Pepaw doesn't have any good shows on there so I guess he's hoping if he pays Conan enough, it'll bring in viewers for that Tyler Perry/House of Payne shit. Other than that there's only reruns (and yes I still catch Seinfeld on there sometimes).
Conan would have been a bettr fit for Fox. Lord knows they haven't had a good live (not sure) comedy show since In Living Color.
Neither are funny.

I think some people just love to work or love what they do for work. Conan just happens to do something that makes him a boatload of money. I think the concept of retirement is baffling to be honest. I mean, if you hate what you do for work, then I think "retirement" should actually be a time for a person to start a second career or job that they love. And you probably have to make less money at that point, so there is less pressure. Even if you're loaded, sitting around the house poolside day in and day out, sounds boring as hell.

I don't like George Lopez's show. A real comedian can do a show without being so vulgar.
I'm kinda meh about the whole thing. On the one hand, Lopez stole jokes from other comics and is generally, a hack. And he did talk some shit about Conan.
On the other hand, love Conan. But he doesn't seem to mind forcing somebody else into a later time slot.
Add Lopez to Conan's pathetic list of enemies: Michael Bolton, Starr Jones, and lesbian Justin Bieber.
