Looking like the Alabama Leprechaun in a Rick James wig, Whitney Houston continued to bring people to their feet at London's O2 arena last night. However, bitches didn't stand to honor Whitney's glorious voice, they stood up so that they could bust out of there before their ears turned inside/out like Pete Doherty when you pour soap on him.
It isn't exactly news that a Whitney Houston concert is the equivalent of reading my junior high school journals (sad, painful and nauseating), but she addressed her voice issues during last night's show.
USA Today says that right after she viciously murdered I Will Always Love You, she stopped and told the audience, "She don't want to come, my soprano friend. Sometimes the old girl sings, but not tonight. I want to do it, but she doesn't want to. ... She's getting a little ... temperamental, even."
Whitney blamed it on the air conditioning in the arena, but she should've blamed it on a different kind of air: CRACK AIR. Whitney's soprano friend isn't coming back. Bitch quit Whit a long time ago. It is now happily living in the throat of a tubby Taiwanese boy with Tootie hair. It will not accept Whitney's friend request. Sadly.

What a shame. Whitney had the best voice on the planet at one time. Now, she's broke and needs this 'comeback' to pay the bills. She would NOT be up on that stage if she had money in the bank. Both the voice and the money are GONE.
You would think after the debacle in Australia that word would have gotten out that that Houston we have a problem has no voice therefore has no concert. I guess people are showing up for the entertainment value of having their ear wax removed from each and every sour note sung.
I don't understand why this thing doesn't just lip sync over an old live recording. Everyone else does. People kind of expect it. This performance reminds me of good ol Judy Garland in her last days. Bitch couldn't stand up straight, let alone sing, and they still pushed her out on stage to get boo hoo hooed. S'all about the Benjamins.
Paul Stanley, lead singer of KISS is 58 now and even HE can still hit the high notes. You know why? He's a professional who knows he has to exercise his voice and practice. Most professionals know that.

I know. In a weird way I respect her? At least her performance is honest, not that I would pay for it. At least she takes pride in herself as vocalist, even if she doesn't have the vocals. And yeah, her soprano's not there. Is it my imagination, though, but is the voice she does have in the range that she does have, better than when her album first came out and she sang on Oprah/GMA? It sounded better to me now, though this recording is poor quality. I didn't think she was going to make it through those early performances even in her lower range. Still, if she knows her soprano isn't there, why don't they re-arrange the songs? If she doesn't have the singing chops, she needs to lean on artistic interpretation... I mean, Dolly never had Whitney's vocals and Dolly kicked and kicks ass!
