I just love how Americans try to be "too cool for school" and ask "who is this?" Well, M.I.A is very popular here in Europe and if I were you, I would listen to her 1st album, she actually sings about important topics like war, starvation and the world, I dont know why she is always bashing Gaga, M.I.A is in a higher level but I understand her, I would be annoyed too if I actually had talent and were innovative then some bitch with her bubble gum mindless pop songs appeared and took all the shine from me.

Listen, I don't love every little thing MIA does but Paper Planes, Jimmy, and Fire all have places in my heart as opposed to Gags' flaming crap on a glittery stick. Wow-those Dale Bazzio links are depressing. The thing about GaGa is that her music is worse than Britney quality (whose producers actually do a great job, IMO), yet she does this avant garde stuff to get "street cred." There is absolutely nothing wrong with being popular or inspired (I think the Fosse thing by Beyonce was well-executed and more of a tribute than a copy), but to sell things to ignorant kids who don't know better and call it your own is just atrocious.

And yeah, she's successful, but it's sad how much she's copied her look, and she's only doing it because of her insecurity about selling out. She was original for a bit there with that queen thing she always held (that stick thingie with the thingie on top) and the glasses. I thought that was fun. Then she went all craycray and copied everyone she could find because I bet people in her original scene started judging her. It's just not genuine, and lack of authenticity is annoying. But I guess she has to live with herself in the end.
