Nine Minutes Long?!!!!?
So here's Lady Caca's video for the illegitimate song Ace of Base gave birth to and then stashed on Vadge's La Isla Bonita. It features a chorus of dancing Twinkie Moes, and it's almost 9 fucking minutes looooong! Think of all the things you can do with 9 minutes. You can eat a Zinger really slowly. You can paint all your nails with Wite-Out (while sniffing it). You can make tweezers out of a paper clip and clean up your brows.
But if you must spend 9-minutes of your precious day watching this, then here it is. And if you don't, but want to know the gist of it, then just picture me on the cement floor of my mother's garage staging a dance-off between my Evil Lyn action figure and my Jeff Andonuts toy while the Like A Prayer video plays on an old black and white TV in the corner.

you should really check out the film, "Metropolis." Madge, Xtina and GaGa have all referenced the film in their work. it's about the elite ("the thinkers") trying to control the masses of "workers" by using one of their own women (Maria) to help control them. exactly what Interscope is doing with GaGa and her "monsters." GaGa even sports a similar wig to Maria on the cover of her Fame Monster album.

I did not even bother to watch the video. Just like telephone, I am sure it doesn't have a damn thing to do with the song. If Gaga would try to make the concept of her videos stick with the theme of her songs as much as she tries to be so innovative and 'shocking,' I might be able to stomach her. She tries way to hard. Finally a Lady Gaga song I really like, the song is quite beautiful. I think she's evolving into a more sophisticated musical style and I like this direction better than anything I've heard from her yet. The influences are there alright, but she hasn't compromised the integrity of any original material in my opinion. If anything, her producers have taken the influence of something good and made it better. As for the video, again, more sophisticated than her usual stuff and a move in the right direction artistically.

Those were my thoughts too! I also agree with those that sad it didn't seem to fit the song. I had a completely different visual in my head.
That being said, I really do think the new in thing to do is to bash Gaga. If anyone has heard her live or done one iota of research, you would know that she is actually quite talented and definitely has a spark of innovativeness. I sometimes feel like people here just take their opinions from MK without thinking on their own.
