I have to admit that I do enjoyed some of the movies she was in and her "acting". but this picture is horrible she looks like stifler's mom (Jennifer Coolidge) who i find sexy but she's twice her age.

Amanda is too normal to be an actress. You need to be some attention whore with no shame to make it big. Otherwise you will just blend in and be forgotten.

There are a lot of former actors who went on to college and got normal careers after their acting days. Maybe that's what she plans to do, then again I think she will be coming back to Hollywood eventually. She has been on TV since she was 11 or 12. Normal life may seem easier than Hollywood life because she has not done anything but act. The grass is always greener on the other side.

All celebs and pseudo celebs should have a breathalyzer lock on their twitter in addition to a simple password.

This is a clear example of drunk twittering. So sad, as it could have easily been prevented.

I always thought she was so cute; so much prettier than Hillary Duff and the other child stars, old and new. She always stayed low profile and I respect that. Maybe she didn't like the bullshit of Hollywood. I don't blame her; I'd be done too. There's so much more to life than being famous.

I've never seen any of her movies but I will admit I used to watch the "Amanda Show" when it was on (I was in my 20's at the time!). She could be another Anna Farris if she got the right movie.

Totally agree with you there. Although I was never a big fan of hers the interviews that I read made me like her because it was clear that she had far more moral fiber than half the idiot chicks around her. She once said that she does her job and goes home. That alone speaks volumes about her work ethic.

She is irrelevant and announcing her "retirement" is her way of getting attention. Those were some depressing tweets though, she should save that "my life isnt fun anymore" shit for her therapist.

I shed a tear when I heard this news. What a loss for Hollywood. I guess all the producers who were fighting to get Amanda in their next film will just have to start over and try to get their second choice. Bad news, indeed. We'll miss you Manda. Great actress, right there, folks!!

If she's got enough money to live on the rest of her life, then good for her. It sucks doing something that you don't like doing. I'm sure she wasn't seeing the kinds of roles she wanted to at least try out for, and that is what started this idea in her head. Given how down to earth she appears to be and how she apparently is financially set, she's doing the one thing we all wish we could do; go for happiness in life. I wish her the best.

I don't really have an opinion of her acting since the only movie I've seen of hers was that one where she finds out her dad is royalty in England or some shit.
But I've seen her a few times on sites where she was coming out of clubs or making appearances and for some reason Ive always thought that she had her act together and I bet she was quietly investing and saving all the money she's made.

Bet she got to the point where she said she has enough money and doesn't have to do something she doesn't like anymore. Good for her.
